Dulce Mendoza has a problem.
It sprouted its ugly little problem roots when she was six and had her first kiss with Mindy, a fellow Girl Scout, underneath a hot plastic slide. Her normal, well-adjusted mother pulled her from the troop, bereft that her daughter's first kiss would forever belong to a girl. Her dad didn't care; her twin brother was just pissed that she'd beaten him to the punch. Dulce didn't know why everybody was so upset about the whole thing, but figured she probably shouldn't do it again, just to be safe.
