„-still belongs to the family." Vegas ended the sentence, scaring both Porsche and Pete to death.
„We may not have as much power as the major family, but we still do have power. There's a reason why the families switch their servants from time to time. We're family so you're automatically under our command as well. If it's my word against Kinn's, you'll follow Kinn, but if it's just me.." Vegas trailed off, taking a grape into his hand before plopping it into his mouth.
„We didn't- he wasn't-" „He didn't mean to, I know, I know. But rather someone explains it to him before he drops another brick." Porsche and Pete both slowly nodded.
„Now, what are you making? I eat everything, but I think I'm in the mood for some egg fried rice today." Acting like nothing happened, Vegas leaned against the kitchen counter. „Oh- yeah, sure, I can make that." Pete begann looking through the cupboards until he found some rice from the day before. Relieved, he started cutting onions and garlic, while Porsche took his time to stare at Vegas, who ignored that simply. At least for some time.
„Porsche, right? Say, don't you have something to do? I'm sure your dear Kinn already misses you." Porsche shot one last glare at Vegas before he whispered a pretty loud „My condolences" towards Pete and rushed then out of the room. Vegas watched him leave until the footsteps fainted in the distance.
Awkward silence followed. Well, awkward for Pete, Vegas didn't seem to mind, he just shifted his attention back to the smaller man. „You're a good cook." He approached Pete, leaning now against him.
„Thank you. I uhm.. I used to often cook with my grandma." That info earned an amused scoff from Vegas who then turned away and pulled out a cigarette.
„No! Sorry, not in here. Here are fire alarms everywhere, and last time someone smoked inside, the sprinklers turned on and everyone was wet. So.. it's better to smoke outside or not at all."
„Ah, I see." Vegas put his cigarette away. „Who was that?" „Who was what?" „The person that smoked inside." „..Porsche."
Vegas let out a short laugh which sounded extremely fake. „That guy really likes giving Kinn a hard time." Pete remained silent. „Say, why isn't he fired yet? He seems like trouble." „Kinn.. has taken a liking to him." Pete answered reluctantly, feeling weirded out a little by the situation.
The taller man nodded slowly. „Kinn really does like him, huh? Funny." He scoffed and ran a hand through his hair. „Why funny?" asked Pete confused, shifting from one leg to the other. „Regarding how much he hates troublemakers, I mean. And Porsche is obviously one of those. Not to mention his disrespect."
„..the food is ready." Pete handed Vegas the plate, looking clearly uncomfortable about this topic. „Ah, yes, thank you." He took a bite, watching Pete the whole time. „Your grandma was a good teacher." he eventually said.
Pete just nodded. „I'd have to go now, my boss is waiting for me." „Mh, of course. Although I did enjoy this little conversation. I look forward to our next meeting." Vegas grinned a last time before swaggering away. The plate with the half eaten meal was left on the kitchen counter.
Pete watched him leave, confused by this whole situation. This man had been suspicious from the first day he had met him, but never had he talked this much to him. Or even talked at all with him.
Annoyed, he ate the rest of the food before putting the plate away and walking back to his boss's dorm, where Tankhun would be surely waiting for him.
