"SO YOU'RE TELLING me... i've been traveling with a wolf this entire time?? adlai— how could you keep this from me?" you frowned.
the aforementioned creature only whined as his ears drooped, he laid on the ground by your feet, avoiding your gaze.
placing your hands on your hips, you furrowed your brows, "i would have never known had tighnari not told me, you're lucky you're adorable."
the man standing by your side deadpanned, "i think it's fairly obvious, i'm not sure how you had gone so long without knowing."
your shoulders shrunk, "he's just so tiny and adorable, how was i supposed to know he was a wild animal..."
the now revealed wolf only stayed in place, curling his body slightly and resting his eyes for a nap after wagging his tail.
tighnari sighed and shook his head, realizing that you truly wouldn't know any better after hearing from you about your whole life being spent imprisoned.
it's only a day later since you awoke from your three day coma, technically making this your fourth day in the estate.
he hadn't learned much else from you, unwanting to bring up traumatic memories so soon after waking up. he wanted to give you some time to adjust to this new life before bringing up mental things that could bring negative emotions and reactions.
after a few more days passed, he had picked up on your knowledge and curiosity and little mannerisms and habits. tighnari would observe you all day and answer all of your little questions. simple things that he thought to be common sense, yet you knew nothing of it.
meeting someone who has never been able to enjoy the world outside changed his perspective on things.
you had never been to school or any kind of social setting outside of a boxing ring. you'd never really had any physical contact with people until less it was aggressive or violent, as you weren't allowed to get too close to the people you considered siblings. you had never heard of any other animals other than dogs, cats, and birds, and you were only aware of those from a picture book you happened to glance at one time.
you knew of simple plants like sunflowers and trees, and you knew that they grew from seeds but you didn't know how. your lack of knowledge explained why you would ask him hundreds of questions throughout the day.
tighnari couldn't help but feel his own feelings sadden the more he learned about you. the tragedies you endured that seemed normal at the time. when you really had the chance to talk about it once, you spoke like it was so casual, something everyone had gone through.
it was a hard conversation to have, it put him in pain to tell you that life wasn't meant to be like that for anyone. you were terribly confused.
he asked why you ran away on multiple occasions if you thought it was normal, you replied that you only ran because you didn't want to hurt people anymore. you didn't want the common life anymore.
