chapter 2: the blind date

PRESENT TIME
When I entered the apartment, I noticed the tv was on, but no one was watching it. " Mi,are you home?" That feels like a dumb question." Mira?" I shouted again, still no answer. I stood still for a moment, wondering what what to do.until I heard the sound of a door opening. I froze, waiting to see who it is. " lody,were you calling me?" Mira asked, strolling into the living room, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

" mira, you scared me," I remarked,"yeah, yeah, so tell me what that woman wanted to talk about?"Mira asked, sitting on the couch. "So,where do I start?, the blonde woman's name is Katelyn." I begin, sitting comfortably on the couch beside her. I explained and told her about everything that Katelyn said to me and what she asked me to do for her.

" I think you should go for it. She pays a lot of money, and that guy probably deserves it," mira said. " Yeah, but I still want to sleep on it, " I replied. What if doing it might lead to something bad happening? I don't want any more regrets in my life. " Okay, I was thinking about the blind date, and I have an idea," she said, instantly changing the subject. I love that she didn't push it.

"If I may ask, why don't you want to go on this date?" I asked curiously, " That's because....." she paused, thinking if she should tell me or not," I met someone, someone I think I'm in love with, I didn't tell you because I didn't think it was serious and you know I don't like talking about things I don't take seriously. But now I feel like it's getting serious." She announced.

" How long have you been dating?"I asked, " for about 3 months," she replied with a smile. For others, three months is not enough time to fall in love, but for mira, it is because most of the men she dated only lasted for a week or two weeks. I nodded my head in surprise and happiness. " I know you want to know about him and all that stuff, but first, I have to tell you my idea ,"

" Yeah, I want to know, but I will wait, so what's the plan?" I asked in anticipation." I want you, i mean, I'm asking you to go on the blind date as me and make sure the guy doesn't like you, me something like that," she explained, looking at me hopefully."

"Uhm, i-"
" I know you think it won't turn out well, but how will you know if you don't try and you're good at pretending. Please do this for me, please, " she begged. She's right. I always think about the things that could go wrong before I do something. It's time I start taking risks. The world is changing. I should change, too, for the better. " Fine, I'll do it. " 

" You will,thank you. The date is tomorrow night at,actually, I dont know where or what time. Dad said he would send me the details," she said excitedly and relieved that I agreed. " Okay, you'll tell me tomorrow now. Tell me  about the man who stole your heart," I asked curiously.

"His name is Michael, his a gentleman, understanding and romantic he also wants to travel the world like I do. He knows how to make me feel special," she said with dreamy eyes." Sounds like a great guy. Why don't you tell your dad about him? I'm sure he'll stop sending you on blind dates. " I suggested." I wish my dad wants a man with a job that pays really well and rich just like himself. Mic is an artist who wants to make amazing art to dad that's childish and not stable." She explained

" Yeah, you're right he won't allow it, but that doesn't mean we won't come up with something," I assured her. " That's why I need you to go on that date for me. Also, mic and I are going out tomorrow," she added happily, " now I'm off to bed. Love you goodnight," she said, skipping off to her bedroom.

I got up, too, heading  straight to my bathroom for a shower.after I went to my closet.put on some pajamas. As I got in bed,I received a message from Katelyn of the place and time we are going to meet and a picture of her brother trevor Knight. His hot, he has one of those faces you would stare at him all day and his eyes are beautiful emerald green but a different kind of shade with a sharp jawline and his smile it could make any woman fall for him, except one. ME, I think I have made my decision, I will make him fall for me.
