"Okay enough about me, what are your plans for you and Trevor's date?" Mira asked, getting some drinks in the fridge and placing them on the table. " We're going to the waimea waterfalls" I said excitedly passing her her food " do you think he'll like it, he seems like the type who prefers dinner dates"she said raising an eyebrow."I know he'll like it, now try my lassania and tell me what you think, oh and can you please make some delicious food for my date tomorrow, thanks."

" You look really happy,I haven't seen you this excited to go out with a guy since high school," she said, inspecting the lassania on her plate. What she said made my smile drop, but she is right, I also haven't dated anyone since high school, since he broke my heart to the point where I'm afraid of falling in love again.

" Lody are you okay, I'm sorry for bringing it up" she said looking at me with pity and regret " no it's okay as you can see I have already moved on, now stop changing the subject and tell me what you think of my food" i said happily waiting for her answer ( note the fake smile on my face).

"I'll tell you what I think if you answer my question, honestly," she said, looking at me seriously. This day started out nicely. Why does it have to end with an end like this?."Why are you doing this?" I asked impatiently. Why doesn't she just taste the food and stick to the present, not the past. I don't know what she wants to know, but I have a suspicion.

" I'm the one asking the questions, not you. There were plenty of men in the past who approached you, showed interest in you, asked you out, and who are rich. You rejected all of them. But accepted trevor, why?"She asked. It's like this question has been bugging her for a while now. I know what she really wants to know. She thinks I have another motive as to why I accepted Kaitlyn's offer. I do, but I don't want her to know about it now.

"I accepted him because I need the money, and he hurt kim. You also said it was a good offer, now tell me what you think?" I said with a smile(note the deceiving smile)." Sometimes I wonder how I became friends best friends with someone who can pretend and lie her way out of anything." She said, looking at me suspiciously.

"I think we became best friends because you can see right through me or because we make pretty good friends." I replied with a loving smile(note the real loving smile). "The lassania tastes amazing, but it's not better than mine,I can taste something different in it. What did you put in it?" She asked, finishing the slice of lassania on her plate and pushing it towards me silently, asking for more.

"This time, I added a lot of love... and a few spices." I answered with a huge smile on my face, giving her the plate with another slice of lassania.

NEXT MORNING

I woke up at 8:00 am and am genuinely excited about our date, which is a good and bad thing. I got up and took a shower after that. I got dressed in a white short with a flora t-shirt, flora sneakers, and a heart and lock silver necklaces.

I checked everything I packed, which consists of a selfie stick so i could easily take pictures of trevor when he embarrasses himself on the trip, swimsuits just in case, some snacks and most importantly insect repellent. I grabbed my packed bag and walked to the kitchen to see mira seated on the stool, staring at her phone like a worried person.

"Yaaah,I'm eating crisps for breakfast," I said loudly. To get her attention, she looked at me with a frown on her face. " Okay, what's wrong?" I asked, sitting beside her on the stool." Derek just called. He gave me the job and wants to meet today to talk, but after I make a decision. I don't know what to say to him." She said, rubbing her head with her hand. "One, this job is good for the bakery, and with the  money, it might be enough for the restaurant you want. Two, this job might lead to Derek finding out what we did and hating us for us or three, Derek might understand and forgive us, and we all move on, " I explained.
