Dearest Gentle Reader,
A march down the aisle may very well be the longest walk any young lady ever takes. It does not simply cover the length of the church, but rather, countless floors for dancing, and meandering paths for every afternoon promenade too. It is a wonder, then, that feet do not tire or, heaven forbid, trip under the scrutiny of all those attentive eyes keeping close watch, indeed.

My walk to Bridgerton house was now accompanied by not only my dearest sister, but also my Papa. Mama insisted on taking the carriage instead, she seems much less herself these days looking sicker by the minute. She has developed a small sickness but the doctor assured us that it was a treatable condition. Their reassurance was of no use and did not stop Papa or I from senselessly worrying.
When inside Bridgerton house, it was in chaos. The two youngest Bridgertons chasing one another around. Hyacinth holding her arm out trying to catch the ribbon Gregory failed around in front of her face.
"He has taken my ribbon!" she screeched,
"I have done you a service." he retorted running from her as she tried to snatch it from him producing nothing but air.
Their mother scolded them, "Do not chase each other. Or, well, perhaps do not catch each other. You must look presentable." she thought aloud, finally noticing the Craufords in her doorway,
"Lord Crauford." she curtsied, as Benedict took a swig of liquid from a suspicious flask,
"I apologise, as no one in this house seems to be ready for the wedding." she says, as I make my way over to the flower- table in the centre of the room, with three Bridgertons sitting around it.
"Colin! Are you quite alright?" I ask, concerned as I approach the boy lying down,
"He is fine!" Benedict says, and his mother walks past calling for the housekeeper, Colin groans,
"Oh, Mother!" he sits up, "Please, not so loud."
"Whatever you have done to your brother undo it!" she says to the older boy, who simply smiles at his mother, before walking towards Colin, whistling, and handing him the flask.
"I may never reach your capacity for drink, Brother." the young boy groans once more,
"It is a simple remedy." Benny shrugs, "If you continue to drink, there can be no after-effects."
Eloise rolls her eyes, "If only you you would use your powers for good."
"Yes," I snatch the bottle from Colin, after he is barely touching the bottle to his lips, "Like handing me whatever you have in that bottle. With the stress of the day, I shall be relying on alcohol to sustain me." I take a large swig from the bottle,
"You are not involved in the preparation for the wedding?" Eloise asks,
"No," I pull the bottle from me, as Colin prises it from my grasp, "It is my Mama."
"Is she alright?" Benedict asks out of concern,
"She is ill, the doctor has said her illness is not contagious and highly treatable, but she is in a weak condition. I only hope she will recover." I sigh,
Benedict places a hand around my shoulder and allows for me to lean into him.
I notice Violet gives him a small smirk before telling him, "Benedict, see that he is well. I am sure the emotions of the day have somewhat confused him." he leaves my side, walking towards the staircase when Anthony, fully ready comes down.
