Chapter 3

guess whose back from the dead

Huey shut his door and headed downstairs, seeing his little brother licking ice cream off his fingers. "What the fuck did you do." he stated as Riley turned his head. "Whatchu talking bout 'what the fuck did u do' yo ass tripping.." Riley had said cockily before Huey walked over and grabbed him by his shirt, slamming him into the wall. "Dont fucking play with me Riley." He glared down at his little brother who managed to maintain a confident demeanor. But it was all stripped away when he spoke, Huey spotted this hidden fear in his tone, "Ion know whatchu talking bout..." Huey continued to stare at him. "Let me go! Cmon man!"

footsteps approached the top of the stairwell. "Let you go..? You fucking got that shit on Jazmine, I saw it!" Riley noticed emotion in his older brother's tone, which was somethin unfamiliar. the footsteps got louder. "It was an accident man! I swear!" "yeah, but you ain't HELP her," he groaned, clenching his jaw. "You fuckin bi-" louder.

huey punched riley in the face, letting him fall to the ground with a bloody nose, "OW YOU FUCKING BITCH!" he looked up, heaving on the ground as huey stood blinking down at him. "HUEY!" jaz yelled out as she turned the corner. "it ain't what it.." huey sighed. "..he was bein a bitch." "Yeah, but you don't get to punch him! he's your lil brother! just calm down..." jaz shook her head and offered riley a hand, riley denied it. "hoe I can pick myself up thank you very much" jazmine clenched her fist, "RILEY FUCKING FREEMAN I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL KILL YOU-"

huey grabbed jazmine and held her back as riley ran out of the room and to the bathroom. "whatever happened to calm down.." "no, I tried to defend him and help him after he ruined MY night, and that's how he treats me?" "well, he's a punk ass teenager, don't even bother." he turned jaz around to face him, "that's why u got me" jazmine smiled and looked up at him. oooou I cant WAIT to tell cindy about this! she thought as he let go. "I know, I'm just sayin it would be nice if he appreciated what I do" "he does deep down but he's too immature to show it. hence why I said, don't bother." 

jazmine and huey headed upstairs, shutting the door behind them. "I don't wanna be a bother," 

"you ain't. you too old to be sleeping on the couch still. i told you, ill sleep on the floor."

everybody knew riley wasn't gonna give up his room even if his life depended on it, same with mr. freeman. it was because of their reasonable selfishness that huey gave up his room to jazmine (partially?). he decided on this as they walked upstairs. while wearing one of his shirts, jazmine fluffed up the pillow she chose to sleep on. "can you pass me my bonnet? its over by the closet" she mumbled while huey was making his pallet with blankets and extra pillows. "hm? yeah I gotchu" he leaned over and tossed it to jaz, her barely catching it. "thanks" he simply nodded.

"wait, I thought you only brought stuff for doin riley's hair since you ain't know you were gonna sleepover?" huey tilted his head, "I brought it for him since he's picky, just in case he needed it." she caught a faint smile from her friend, "yea I know you keep your things clean." "you sure you'll be okay on the ground, won't that hurt?" "where do you suggest I sleep, jaz?" he replied with a monotone voice, a hint of sarcasm seeping through. "your bed, dummy." "with you...?" "with me." 

she quickly corrected herself. both of them were panicking internally as jaz spoke, (if riley was here yall know he woulda been on their ASSSSSS) "...to sleep." "I know." "I just...thought you were worried about what I meant..." that's not what he was concerned about, the truth was he didn't care what she meant. "jaz, you've gotta know a boy and a girl, who are teenagers may I add, sleeping in the same bed may be a bit uncomfortable; regardless  of what they are towards each other."
