What's Wrong With Mikey?

When I arrived at the Toman meeting spot, the first thing that caught my attention was the shine of a brand new motorcycle, I wasn't the first to be blinded by someone's enormous spending decisions, as other people flocked around it, ready to steal a glance trying to ask the owner a million questions, but being wary about it.

Upon closer inspection, I took note of it belonging to Mavis, or as most people liked to call her in these circles was our leader's girlfriend.

There were still many unexplained things about this lass, where did she even come from? Could she truly have met Mikey through a fantasy multiplayer game?

The weirdest thing however was her relationship with Mikey, somehow most of their interactions always gave me an impression of being rather toxic, but even if all the other captains took note of this taking place, no one dared to utter their doubts to Mikey's face. Even Draken was holding himself back from lecturing him on how to treat a girl right, as he found himself being rather conflicted.

He previously confined in me how our leader got nearly choked to death, spilling his tears, claiming it was all Mikey's fault on how he ended like this. We still couldn't figure it out, was that one of his pranks, or was his head messing with him from the missing incident? And for all we knew he perhaps did it to himself.

I shook my head not willing to think about it anymore, Mikey was back to his usual self, it was all that mattered.

But if they were together why would our leader keep dying the fact? Was it a spiel to keep her from harm's way? But on the contrary, why would he give her a spot within our ranks so easily if that was the case? She could go hand in hand with Mikey himself, for all we knew she could easily beat most of us in a fight.

Then I spotted Mavis waving me down, so I made my way towards her but noticed Hakkai being right behind me. Which was strange why would he march straight into territory he couldn't handle?

"Is something wrong?" I tried to be as polite as possible, our suspicions towards her didn't need to warrant any hostility. She got Mikey's trust after all.

"I want your advice." At times her strange directness reminded me of him. I nodded my head letting her proceed.

"I was trying to seduce our leader, but most of my hints were quickly brushed away, any tips on how I can proceed? So this dumbass understands I want us to date?" I was taken off guard, most of us believed they were already past the flirting stage, at this point no one would even battle an eye if someone found them making out behind some bushes away from prying eyes.

"And what kind of tactics have you utilized so far?" A slight curiosity was nagging at me, wondering how our leader would act in a relationship.

"I clung to his arm on multiple occasions, gave him hugs, cuddled, and even stripped to my underwear, but nothing worked." Was he truly so dense in the romantic department? Mikey? Really? Then I heard Hakkai gasp behind me, covering his face that was red from embarrassment. You wanted to tell me our guy at the top was at the same level as the guy behind me? The one that couldn't talk to a girl for even a second?

"And he didn't push you away?" Knowing this part was most important.

"Mostly he just sighs in defeat, but otherwise lets me do whatever." It was safe to say that he didn't mind her clinginess, was he just simply dense? Afraid to assume her moves could mean something more? I never thought a guy we all looked up to could act this unexpectedly cute.

"Listen when a guy is this thick-skulled, all you can do is tell him your feelings directly, no amount of dropped hints will help unless you plan to wait for an additional couple of months to make your relationship official." I caught Mikey staring in my direction, could I assume he was watching his love interest like a hawk, not wishing for anyone else to snatch her away? I proceeded to smile at him, knowing that soon his wish would be fulfilled. But I couldn't for the love of figure out why he refused to confess by himself. Was he that afraid of rejection?
