"My name is Moichiro Sacguchi but you will call me sencai. Now then you have a choice of magical range or physical combat. Master one and maybe you can master both by the time you graduate. That is if it doesn't swallow you up and spit you out a broken shell of the person you once were" a man stood over my class of first years looking quite proud of himself. Well if his aim was to scare the ever living shit out of us then he's doing a damn good job. "Someone tell the class what different types of affinities there are".

"Light, dark, wind, earth, fire, ice, water, lighting and air. Then with bending there are water, earth, fire, and air with different sub-bending with in them like lighting bending or blood bending" I said. My brother looking like he wanted to shut me up.
The whole class turned round to look at me. The looks given ranged from concerned to confused.
"What?" I ask, "did I miss one out?".

"No but how can you know all that, it's your first day and it's not for those who don't have a teaching license to speak about the affinities they don't have" my teacher explained. "I'm a legacy so I can do everything you just said and have been alive for 957 years hailing from the Heian period but even I don't use every one" he continued.

"Wait you're a vampire!" One of my class mates said looking less than happy to be within 100 miles of him.

"No I'm a hybrid, the queen is a vampire and the king is a werewolf each blessed to live for 1000 years before having to abdicate the throne and give it to their son should a hybrid not appear before then. I am 30th in line born 100 years after the queen came into power. Please don't worry though as I only need to feed once a week to keep my strength up and I can survive perfectly well on normal food" sencai explained hope to alleviate any fear that my class mates might have had.

With that explanation his appearance makes a lot more sense. His eyes were pitch black where it should be white with a yellow eye colour and dark red pupils. It's not very noticeable as he's obviously employed magic to make his eyes look normal but for some reason I can see through it. His fangs are on both sets of jaws giving him a more canine look only they are retractable and he doesn't have any fur or a snout. Come to think of it perhaps it's not magic he uses, instead it could just be that his eyes are normal and will only look like that when he allows his fangs to grow. It also won't just be the top fangs either, because of his werewolf side his bottom ones will grow as well giving him a monstrous face indeed. You wouldn't want to piss him off. It won't end well for you believe me.

"Now getting back on topic, if you decide that you wish to go down the caster route then your weapon will be six Nouliths. Four will be situated on your back while one will be on each of your sides" explained Sencai.
He continued "if however you want to specialize in physical combat first then you'll be using a gunblade and shield to start off with to get the best of both worlds and then you can choose to either stick with it or choose another weapon. The simple explanation is, to use this weapon you are imbue your blade with Aether and then once you strike your target shit goes boom".

Who'd have thought that one word could make everyone in the room stunned into place.

"Innori-Ryen, why do you think the whole class just went silent?" Sencai looked at me as if I knew the answer to that question. I do but it still unnerved me a bit.

"It's because you swore sir - sencai. Sencai, it's because you swore and we're only 16" I say a little too confidently for my own liking.

"Well done that's correct and do you know why I did that" he asked.

"I can honestly say that for once I can't think of a single idea why you would" I reply.

"It's so that I would have your undivided attention when delivering this next bit of information" he explained. "This school is an extremely powerful but dangerous institution. There are those who die in their pursuit of knowledge and how to wield their power safely and effectively. Both Mages and Warriors alike are at equal risk of dying or worse, succumbing to their power and not being able to stop it from eating you alive".
