Aiden POV

Pain.
That's all he could feel.
Lying down in his bed Aiden Clark just got back from saving people from phantoms for what felt like the millionth time.
He was just about to fall into the welcoming embrace of sleep when his phone started ringing from his bedside table.

Huh? Who could be calling at this time?
Ben is at his friends House right now.
"Hello?" Se says while answering the phone.
"Aiden?" The voice of his mother rang through the phone.
Oh, it's her.
"Yea?" He starts, not clarifying anything. "What?"
"I just wanted to tell you that me and your father won't be able to make it for your birthday this year." She starts.
"We just got a very good deal but we have to stay in Scotland for it, sorry son." She tries to explain.
"It doesn't really matter, you didn't come for the past two so I didn't really expect this time." He says bitterly.
"Aiden Clark that is not how you speak to your mother!" She shouts.
"I haven't seen my 'Mother' in 2 years so I don't know what you're talking about."He says ending the call.
Ugh, why does she always try to contact me but refuses to try and see me.

Suddenly, he hears the door open from downstairs.
-Aiden, im back but I have a friend here to pick up some notes.-He gets a text from Ben.
Oh shit.
Aiden runs to his wardrobe and grab whatever he could find before sprinting to be bathroom. After he got done changing he slowly crept to his and bens bedroom to see if he could hide his suit.
He slowly creaked the door open to see Ben not there. He goes and stuffs his suit into his bag so no one would find it.

A knock on the door makes Aiden turn round to see Ben walking into there room with a red-headed girl trailing behind him.
This is Ashlyn, she is just grabbing some notes for school Ben signed to him.
Aiden glances at Ashlyn to see her staring at his half opened bag right below his bed.
Oh god no.
Aiden quickly starts trying to think of something to say in order to grab her attention.

"Hi, I'm Aiden, I'm bens cousin. He says stretching his hand out to the girl.
"Ashlyn" she says shaking his hand eyes still flicking back to the bag every once in a while.
Im going to quickly get my bag I left it downstairs by accident Ben signed again Leaving in the room.

It was really awkward.
"Care to explain what's in your bag?" She asks very bluntly.
"What do you mean?" I say trying to act dumb.
"Oh don't try that, it's obvious what that is. Also Ben tells us that you almost never leave but never have free time, or at least that's what he says." She says squinting her eyes.
"It's a costume for something I was doing with friends, it's a bit embarrassing so I didn't want Ben to see." He blurts trying to come up with a story.
"Ben says that you don't talk to anyone and that you never leave your room."  She states.
"Look I don't know what to tell you,I have already said the truth I don't know what you want from me." He says getting impatient.
"Ok fine. But everyone knows what Spider-Man's hair looks like, so see if you can change that." She says finishing the conversation.

-Two weeks later-

It had been a rough day for Aiden, he has just got rid of about 70 phantoms. They seem to be growing in numbers recently and he needs to figure out why.
