11:40AM

After a nice walk through a few neighborhoods, we were finally at the park leading to the creek. But with absolute quiet and very little conversation from Bluey, my mind had naturally drifted to pain. While Bluey was looking around us and commenting on anything especially pretty she saw, I was dead silent with my eyes pointed down, trying not to cry in front of her. As nice as it would be to confide in her right now, I didn't want to ruin her mood. So I just continued hoping she wouldn't notice my depression.

"Alright, almost we're there" She turned to me "Oh man, do you remember this park? We did so much fun shit here" She giggled. I had no one anymore, without my parents, I would surely be a fuck-up with no future, leeching of the Heelers' kindness for the rest of time, right? Of course it's right, you weren't worth anything to begin with. Go and cry about it. You don't mean anything, surely their entire family just wants you gone, you're a burden. You should kill yourse- "Mackenzie!" I almost jumped up again but was held down by a tight hug "You're worrying me so much, I hate seeing you like this". She pulled from the hug and looked like she had tears in her  eyes. Why did she care about me so much? I never did anything for her, I didn't deserve her.

"Sorry, thank you for caring, but I promise I'm fine." I didn't notice I was completely monotone and it was very obvious I was lying

"Okay, I won't push, but I still think you need this" She tapped the backpack I had on, which was Uber fucking heavy by the way.

"Yes, it might be nice, but remember, only a little" I said as I turned my eyes back down. We headed past the park and started our way into the creek.

11:50AM

A good deal of leeches and prickly branches later, we found two good stumps with a "table", which was just another stump, in the middle. How convenient. We both took a seat as I threw my backpack on the middle stump. I had a large feeling of anxiety just thinking of its contents, there was no way this ended well. But Bluey seemed to have an okay plan for everything, so maybe everything would be just peachy after all.

"Alright, It's probably not a good idea to get drunk at noon, so what can we do?" Bluey asked, she was only now realizing how much time we actually had to pass before we could justify going to bed immediately after going home.

"I think we start by covering our asses. Your dad's gonna eventually realize he just let us out here with no stipulations, so he's either going to come and pick us up or just to check on us." I started explaining my plan "So, you tell him we're at one of our friends houses, that way he doesn't think we are still out here doing whatever we want". She nods

"Very smart, let's say we are at your house" She begins to type a message

"NO!" Her heads snaps to me at my sudden loud exclamation "I mean uhhh, just don't. Say we're at Rusty's." She just raises an eyebrow and gets back to typing "Also make sure to tell him so he can cover for us"

"Okay..." She finishes her text "Nifty little thing my dad didn't realize about the tracker he put on my phone is I can just set myself to appear where ever I want" She chuckled.

"Yup, sounds just like your dad" I replied. She finished setting her location and looked back up at me "Alirght, well we still have like 5 hours to pass, what now?"

"How about some brawl stars?" I asked, looking for anything to distract me from the terrible decisions we were going to make.

"Yeah, that sounds good" She replied as she started opening up the app.

4:00PM

We surfed through mobile games for a while until we decided to start watching movies. She had insisted on coming over to sit on my stump with me, for 'better ergonomics' as she put it. She had slowly been making more and more contact with me. It started with just the contact from sitting next to each other, then a hand on my thigh, then an arm around my shoulder, and now she had her head rested in the nook of my shoulder. I had really ought to be happy with how forward she was being, but I wasn't really feeling anything. The only thing that weighed on my mind was my loose interest in the movie we were watching and a growing sadness. Bluey looked up at me and saw my dull expression.
