"So...what did you need to come see me about?"

Veneer had been spending a long first few months in jail ever since he and his sister, Velvet were arrested for fraud and kidnapping among other things. It hadn't gone over well at first. Even though he took their arrest quite well, he had spent most of his time alone and, according to the guard who was assigned to him, he'd 'become a bit of a crybaby'. Near everything was making him cry. Even on Floyd's first visit, Veneer, once he saw him, had let loose a fresh burst of tears. Floyd was only all the more concerned for him. Under the guard's careful watch, Floyd was allowed to do anything he saw fit to help him settle down. Once he did, which took a few seconds, he encouraged Veneer to talk about his feelings, which mostly consisted of guilt, shame, embarrassment and vulnerability. He hardly knew what to do with these feelings, so he just cried.

They talked it over and, after a few sniffles and wet tissues, Veneer was ready to let the healing process begin. He was given to the care of a counselor and Floyd had begun seeing him at the end of each month for a checkup. The next few days, Veneer's crying became less and less. Now it only happened about once a week at the most.

But here he was in the middle of the month. What was going on?
