Floyd and Veneer's Imagination Adventure

Imagine a Place

The two followed along singing and doing all the moves with Barney. Veneer felt a bit silly doing it all, but he put them aside knowing Barney needed their help. As they got to the final verse to "do all three", Floyd looked over at him, "Having fun?" Veneer gave him a thoughtful smile, "Yea, I think I am." and took Floyd back onto his shoulder. The song ended almost as soon as it started; Floyd and Veneer gave Barney a round of applause. Barney laughed, "This is such a wonderful place! And you both made it happen with your imaginations," another song began to play, "Let's see how many other things we can imagine together." Barney began the first verse,

"Imagine a place you want to be.

Imagine a place for you and me.

Imagine a place and you'll be there;

Imagination can take you anywhere."

It was a really nice song, "Now, let's pretend it's a beautiful fall day." Veneer took Floyd in his hand again, they felt so much younger, "The leaves are falling from the trees," Barney continued, "We can all run and play together flying our kites." They imagined again and the weather slowly changed to fall. "Oh, look!" Barney exclaimed, "It's working! Just look at all the pretty colors. This is so much fun!" It was really working, and it was the most perfect fall day they could ever wish for. They joined Barney for the next verse,

"Imagine a place you want to be.

Imagine a place for you and me.

Imagine a place and you'll be there;

Imagination can take you anywhere."

Singing it made it all the more heartwarming. Barney looked at them, "Floyd? Veneer? Do you guys like camping?" Veneer knew he did but looked at Floyd for confirmation. When he nodded, Veneer nodded to Barney, "Yea, we like camping."

"You do?" Barney asked, "Then let's pretend we're camping. Imagine the stars shining and the sounds of the crickets and the green frogs all around us. Can you hear them?" As they imagined, the same thing happened. The sky turned dark with stars, pink along the horizon, and the sound of crickets and frogs filled the air. They all looked up at the stars, "Look, aren't the stars beautiful? Oh, I just love to go camping." The two boys stared up in awe, "I do, too." Veneer said a bit wistfully as he pulled Floyd into a gentle squeeze.

The park turned back to normal. "That was so cool!" Floyd exclaimed. "Yea," Veneer added, "I never knew imagination was so...powerful." Barney chuckled, "Anything is possible if you just use your imagination."
