Chapter 38

Ryan's POV


Day after meeting.


My head is throbbing, it feels like someone is playing drums inside my head. I tried opening my eyes but failed at first, but I tried few more times and succeeded at last but everything around me was spinning. I shake my head to clear my vision then walk towards the centre table in my hotel room and filled a cup of water.

I had too many drinks last night, well meeting Natalia and not just meeting her I have questioned her company for something they didn't do but the mistake was already done. I dont know what she was doing with the Adams and how did she got there, I know she is talented but with my rivals.

I turn around and saw something that I don't remember at all, red hair spread on the other side of my bed. Now I really don't want to confirm my doubt but I took a deep breath and slowly, moved towards my bed to look who was there. And the person turned around slowly as I was getting close and I stopped in my place after seeing her.

'No, this can't be true, how can she be here there must be a misunderstanding. I looked around the room and it was definitely my room and our clothes were on the floor except for my shorts I'm not wearing anything'. I said in my mind, I was so deep in my thoughts I didn't hear her wake up until she spoke.

"Good morning Ryan darling", Melissa said.

"What the hell happened last night Melissa", I asked her in horror she was not wearing anything under the cover.

"What do you think happened dear", she said seductively, then remove the sheet and stood up and I turned my head other way," why are you shy now, last night you just can't keep your hands to yourself". She said and kissed my neck.

"Melissa wear this and move aside", I said and throw a robe at here.

"I will but are you feeling alright", she asked me.

I turned around and she has put the robe on so I took a sigh in relief then asked,"What happened last night Melissa".

"We had a wonderful night Ryan can't you see it", she said and smiled.

"Melissa I'm not kidding right now, WHAT'S HAPPENED LAST NIGHT", I asked.

"We slept together last night and you were amazing", Melissa said and come closer to me.

I took a step back and tried to remember,"how did you came inside my room Melissa".

"You called me here last night and we were drinking", she said and then stopped.

"What happened after that", I asked.

"Then you kissed me, and one thing lead to another and we had rough love making last night", she said and tucked her hair behind her ear.


"It was a mistake", I said quietly.

"What did you said", she asked .

"I said, IT WAS A MISTAKE, wear your clothes and get out", I told her clearly.

"You can't act like this Ryan what you did last night was not a mistake", she shouted.

"Yes, it was not pick your damn clothes and get out before I throw you out", I said then turned around so she gets the point about leaving.

"Last night was something you initiated so don't blame me", she said as she was walking out.

"The only person who will stand next to me will be Natalia not you or anyone else", I told her.

"You have lost her already and I'll make sure she will never look at your direction", she said and walked out slamming the door.


I sat down and put my head in my hands trying to remember everything what happened last night, but everything is foggy. I feel like I just cheated on Natalia, funny thing is I just found her and now this mess she was suspecting us before but how will I look at her and say that I do want to start everything between us. And after what happened right now I have no idea what I did last night.

I remember coming here from Dubai after the meeting was flop, I talked with dad about it and he wanted me back soon but I have work in Hong Kong so I came here directly and bought Melissa with me, I can't let her out of my sights after yesterday show. Anyway after that I remember going to bar having a drink then I came back and bought a bottle of bourbon or something with me but when did I called Melissa's here. How did she got inside?

I picked my phone and called my assistant and he picked in a ring.

"Good morning sir", he said.

"Good morning, I want you to get every detail on what happened last night in my hotel and specially on my floor and follow Melissa", I told him.

"Okay sir it will take be done, and sir your meeting is scheduled in an hour", he said.

"Okay prepare a car for me we will leave in few minutes", I told him and disconnect the call.


I then dailed the number I know can find me things easily and faster then anyone else.

"Hello, bro how are you", he said.

"Hey, I want you to find something", I told him.

"Bro , just stop looking for Natalia, we have searched everywhere just believe that we have lost her", he replied.

"Can you shut up, I found her she is working for Adam's", I told him.

"Wait Adam's as in the Adam's business tycoon", he asked.

"How many Adam's do you think I know in business world", I said.

"There are many people with same name bro, so you need to be specific okay", he said then paused and then asked," wait how did you even met with them, because I clearly remember you don't work with them".

"Now you know where to look for her, and one more thing keep an eye on Melissa I know she is up to something bad this time", I told him.

"Okay I'll get to work then", he said and cut the call.

I put my phone down and got ready for the meeting, but after getting ready my phone start ringing, and I saw dad was calling me. I guess I have some amazing idea why he is calling me now, so I picked up his call.

"Hello dad", I said.

"What, happened yesterday Ryan", he asked.

"Trusting Melissa was the biggest mistake everyone just made", I told him.

"Where are you right now", he asked.

"Shanghai, for a meeting with our dealer", I told him.

"Come back fast ", he told me.

"Sure let me finish my work dad I'll be back soon, now I'm getting late I'll talk to you later",I said and cut the call.

After finishing my meeting I told my assistant to take us directly at the airport and call someone to bring my luggage and Melissa there. I have already booked tickets so I can be back home soon.

I took my luggage and assistant with me and passed the security and didn't looked at Melissa. She was way behind us with her luggage which was way too big for a three days trip. I took seat in lounge and waited for my flight but it was just me and my assistant not her I didn't want to talk to her right now.

"Sir should I get Miss Evan here", my assistant ask.

"No, she can manage herself", I told him.

We boarded soon and before everyone a benifit for traveling in business class.

"Sir I think Miss Evan is not here, should I go and look for her", he asked.

"Her seat is in economy so she can manage herself", I told him.

"But I'm with them let me go", I hear Melissa arguing with the flight attendant.

"Ma'am your seat is in economy section", she told her nicely.

"You have mistaken wait let me call him, Ryan, Ryan she is not letting me come there", Melissa started shouting and I ignored her.

"Sir should I go and help her", my assistant asked.

"Just sit down quietly and ignore her, she can handle herself", I told him.

"Ma'am please take your seat or we have to get you removed from the flight ", one of the flight attendant said.

And after this I didn't here any commotion from her, she almost delayed the flight. We travelled separately from her which was amazingly quiet and peaceful for me after a long time.  I know this is not the best way to deal with her but I don't want to listen to her even for a second now.

"After landing call our driver we will leave before Melissa she can get her own ride", I told my assistant after sometime.

"Okay sir, should I schedule meetings for tomorrow", he asked but didn't ask anything about my behaviour.

"No cancel tomorrow's meeting I need to deal with some issues before", I told him and he nodded.

As I told my assistant he made the arrangements and we left Melissa, she is not my problem anyway. I was just trying to help her but she was just trying to destroy me. Now I need to clean the mess she made and try to find Natalia. I reached home after dropping my assistant. Melissa was calling non stop but that's something normal to me anyway. I went inside and change in some comfortable clothes and slept for few hours.

I don't know how long I was sleeping but I woke up after hearing my phone ringing I picked up with looking who is calling.

"Hello", I said in sleepy voice.

"RYAN HOW CAN YOU LEAVE MELISSA ON THE AIRPORT", mom shouted.

"She is a grown woman she can handle herself", I said and sat up.

"Ryan she is a lady and alone without you how can she manage her, and you know how unsafe it is for women who travel alone", she said.

"She is not my responsibility and I'm not babysitting her, if you care so much about that girl go and be her helping hand, and don't disturb me", I told her and cut the call.

So, Melissa called mom or Eva I don't know whom and told them I left her but she is not wrong. She needs to know her place, she is not someone important in my life and what she did in the meeting has already got us in big trouble but who will tell my mother, I know who.

I got up and got ready for office now I need to handle everything and talk with dad what happened in right way, if Melissa start explaining she will blame others but not this time. I will definitely do the right thing this time, she can't fool us every time and manages to act like a naive woman, I need to find everything that she is up too, I know something doesn't add up.
