I sit beside Taylor at the table, awkward silence filling the space between the seven of us. I, much like the others- except Aidan, who builds god knows what with his lunch- push my food around my plate, too anxious to eat."I think we should go back to Savannah."
Fuck. Of course."I thought everyone agreed it was too dangerous...?"
"So what? We're just supposed to let things stay like they are?"
"I'd rather be semi-stuck than permanently stuck."
Welp, now there's gonna be another fight. I can tell Tyler is getting more and more heated, it's understandable really, our situation is...less than convenient, and very irritating. Everyone is on edge.
"Well maybe if you would have told us the truth from the beginning, we wouldn't be stuck at all!" Ok that was kind of uncalled for dude.
"I already explained why I didn't-"
"Aren't you one to talk."
Shit, now Aidan's involved.
"You're the one that brushed it off as a prank and walked off. If she had said anything-"
"-Would you even have believed her?"
"With your personality, I seriously doubt it." I shift, my fist clenching. For some reason, the way he was talking about Tyler was frustrating me beyond no end.
"Whether I would have believed it or not she should have said something! Now we're stuck in some demonic dimension," And there it is, Tyler has snapped, honestly again- can't blame him.
"Running away from flesh-eating deadly creatures," I cringe as the boy next to us slowly scoots away.
"I've lost count of how many deadly experiences I've had, none of us have slept in days, we can't tell our parents or any-" Ben slams his fists against the table, slowly bringing a finger to his lips in a 'shh' motion.
Tyler sighs as he slowly falls back to his seat, "If we don't go back to Savannah where this cycle began, then what else are we supposed to do?" Shaking his head, the brunette stands, tossing his tray away and leaving the cafeteria.
I jump up, following him- me and Taylor make eye contact, I nod my head reassuringly as I go.
"Tyler!" I shout as I run after him, "Tyler!"
He spins, I can see his chin shaking as he stuffs his hands in his pockets, "what? You come here to lecture me too?"
I just shake my head, slowly walking up to him and pulling him into a hug. "It's ok, I understand. You did nothing wrong."
The boy freezes for a moment before slowly wrapping his arms around me and melting into the embrace. "I just- I-"
"I know, I know. You have enough stress as it is-" I pull back, my hands going to his face, slowly willing tears from his cheek, "You don't deserve this, any of it. Your outburst was completely understandable, and I don't blame you for not believing it."
Tyler nods, his hands going to grab mine, holding them to his face. We simply look at each other for a few quiet moments. I bite my lip, not knowing what to say or do. Luckily for me- Aidan bursts into the hallway.
