DISCLAIMER- timelines are NOT correct but i've got a plan for what i want to write and it goes against the timeline so pls excuse it'kill 'em all.'
$5.97hmm, pretty cheap. a hefty cardboard box resided on the rickety floors of what i would call, my own personal palace; (or others would call a failing buisness, understaffed for a usual store, but overstaffed for a small record store cornering a main road with an average 11 customers on a slow day.) by overstaffed, brandon and i- brandon, the manager of this oyster. an oyster may look boring on the outside, but inside holds undamaged girls, a sweet, shining, pearl which symbolises everything good in this world. the pearl in this oyster, the records, the music, the soul.
the pearl that i'd call the sabbath, or maybe the iron maiden, (but i'd hidden all that in the back.) see, this is why i'd call this place a hidden gem- it's got everything you'd ever want, you just gotta ask for it.
i carved open the top of the box, through the frail layer of thin, cheap, sellotape. god, whoever packed this must hate this fuckin' band. i dug my nails into the cardboard, bending my fingers to get a good grip from inside the box, and pulled upwards with a strong kinetic force. the records were stacked in tall piles, extra surface area in the box taken up by excess records messily placed vertically. i took one off the top of the stack.
the lp was black, mostly black on the outside with the thick red font, blood red with sharp lining adorning the word, metallica. i pushed my nail through the plastic slip in between the records cross-section, from the starting left to the opposite right to make a clean cut. i peeled away the film and it fell to the floor, already forgotten. i'd deal with it later, and if i didn't, brandon would have my ass.
something about this record stood out to me, i couldn't tell you what it is. maybe it was the threatening title of KILL 'EM ALL, which seemed more of a promise than a threat. whatever it was, i brought the lp behind the front desk. resting my arms on the wooden counter, i gently crafted the black record from its confines and placed it on the empty counter. 8:55am, the store was due to open at 9. might as well start this thing off with a bang.
so that's the prelude hahahah lol. is anyone actually going to read this?? if not that's embarrassing for me but hey lol what else could i be doing rn
please leave comments and votes if u want me to continue!!
