I woke up moments later. PAIN, I could only feel pain, the worst I had ever felt.
I tried to look around as my sensors and eye adjusted their stereo vision. I couldn't even scream, I had no mouth, it was gone.
When my vision finally came back online, I wished it hadn't. I looked in horror upon my mangled body, black blood was oozing from every wound every orifice, so much blood... My regeneration wasn't progressing, compensated by the disintegration from the light beam. I was stuck in this pathetic state. I couldn't even recognise my own body, as broken bones and sizzling flesh mixed with the blood into an infernal mess of body horror.
The organic pistons in my neck managed to activate as I looked at the outcome of the explosion. The desert planet was no more, and so were all the surrounding planets. What were once celestial bodies and ships were now an unrecognizable floating cloud of debris. Everything had been annihilated.
So they had truly done it, they had activated a collapse weapon to kill me, even if that meant the destruction of a universe. The explosion that happened here was only a fraction of what this thing, this ancient weapon built by the Architects of this universe, could accomplish.
I couldn't help but feel pleased: if they had gone to such length to exterminate me, that meant that I truly was a threat. The creature pulling the strings, the one responsible for the Archetype corruption, the chaos resurgence, the one that wanted to infect this reality, was truly afraid of me. It knew that my plan could be successful, it knew I could reshape this reality, and that pleased me beyond everything! So I was on the right path, I was a threat, and my plan could work! I could truly be able to destroy all life in reality and purge it from its corruption.
My joy was short-lived as lasers tore through my twisted body, bone and blood flying across the asteroid I had landed on. Some of the aliens had survived, and I was defenceless! I felt a sharp pain rip my chest as a long harpoon tore through it. I tried transforming my only valid arm into a beam weapon, only to have it impaled and torn from my shoulder by another harpoon. More of those wretched blades cut through me as more lasers further turned my body to mush. Mech suits landed all across the asteroid and rushed toward me. They were going to kill me, the collapse had failed, but they were going to finish the job!
I couldn't die, I couldn't, not after my revelation. I was on the right path, so close to saving reality!
I focussed my mind and used all the energy I had left to create a thought, a simple but powerful one. I then broadcasted it all around me. It spread through each mind as it echoed around the debris, travelling across galaxies and infecting every mind that wanted my death. "Don't kill him, imprison him, lock him away and let all forget about his existence". This was a last-ditch effort to save myself, using my mind control, a gift from the creator gods, as my salvation.
The shots stopped being fired and the mechs stopped running. It had worked, I would live, at the cost of all my energy. I could feel it, my soul starting to shatter under the strain of the mind corruption I had performed. Yet it wasn't over, I had one more message to broadcast. I sent it across the galaxies, the universes everywhere my mind could still go, trying to reach my three brothers, the last three knights of the Cosmos: "My brothers... I live, find me, resurrect me..."
My soul and mind both finally shattered under the strain, and everything faded to black as I sunk deep into the void and oblivion embraced me...
