'Pa, I'm telling you, you don't have to worry about me.. I'm sure someone will call me any day now, with a problem that needs to be taken to court. You really don't have to worry.' Lucia spoke to her father, who was quite worried about her and her future. Her father was pacing around, obviously in distress.
'But Lucia, listen to me... you can't always just wait. You need a job, fiore*... you need to work, I can't always give you money. I'm not the richest, you know that. Clients won't just call you out of nowhere, you need to put yourself out there.' Her father suddenly stopped in his tracks. 'I think I know a guy who needs your help. His name's Aldo, he's an old friend of mine. How about I give you his number and you give him a call, eh? I think that's a great idea!' He grinned widely as he grabbed his phone from his pocket. Just a few seconds later, Lucia got a notification on her phone from her father. The message she got was just Aldo's number.
'Yeah, I'll give him a call, I guess..' Lucia sighed before retreating to her room and laying on her bed.
She had to live back in her parents' house, because she simply wasn't earning any money. She had worked and studied so hard and has got all the papers needed, yet nobody called her to be their lawyer. Her father was right, she needed to put herself out there more.. she won't just be magically called out of nowhere. Maybe it was a good idea to get this Aldo's number.. she'll call the man tomorrow to see what kind of problems he's facing, but it probably was nothing serious, she thought.

The next morning came quickly, Lucia being awoken by the sun shining into her room, as she forgot to close the blinds last night. She got out of her cozy and warm bed, as much as she didn't want to, and made it up before she went downstairs to have breakfast. Her father was already in the kitchen, brewing some coffee.
'Oh! Good morning, fiore.. Your mom's out to grab the pastries from the bakery, she'll be home any minute. Did you sleep well?' Her father asked sweetly as Lucia sat down at the small dining table they had. 'Yeah, I slept pretty well.. except I got woken up by the sun fully shining into my room because I forgot to close to blinds..' She replied, yawning. 'Oh, well, at least your room is getting some light in it.' Her father chuckled and sat down beside her, now with two cups of coffee. He put one down for Lucia, and one for himself. 'You gonna call my old friend today?' He asked as he sipped on his coffee. Lucia shrugged. 'I probably should call him..' She sighed. Just as she finished her sentence, the door opened to her mom with a small brown bag filled with pastries. 'Good morning, darling! You're up quite early!' Her mother smiled widely, and she placed the pastries down on the kitchen counter. 'What are you two talking about? Calling who?' Her mothed asked. 'Oh, no one... just one of dad's old friends. Dad said I should call him to ask if he still needs a lawyer, that's all.' Lucia got up to grab a pastry from the bag, and so did her father and mother.
The three ate their breakfast together, chatting about everything and nothing at once. Lucia helped her mother wash the dishes, before she went to her room to call her dad's old friend, Aldo. She nervously dialed the number her dad sent her, and waited for the phone to be picked up on the other end.

'Hello, this is Aldo Viscuso?'
'Hello, this is Lucia Malgeri.. uhm, Enzo Malgeri's daughter.. I heard that you've been having legal troubles, and that you needed a lawyer.. do you still need one?'
'Ah, you're Antonio's little girl! I've seen you when you were a baby! Yes, I've been facing legal troubles with my... business. Are you a lawyer, by chance? Is that why you're calling me?'
'Uhm, yeah.. I'm a lawyer. My dad and I were just wondering if I could be your lawyer.'
'Of course! If your dad told you that you could be my lawyer, then you must be a good one. How about we meet tomorrow, at my office? I'll send you the address.'
'Oh, yeah, sounds great! I'll see you tomorrow then... at what time?'
'Just come by whenever, preferably between two and five. Have a nice day.'
'Okay, you have a nice day too!'

Lucia watched as Aldo hung up. Just a few moments later, she got a text from his number with the address she needed to go to. Huh... that went way easier than she thought it would, she thought. She stared at her phone for a few more minutes, before a thought of realisation went through her mind: she needed to prepare for tomorrow, she needed to give a good impression!
