To her surprise, Aldo, or at least she thought it was Aldo, replied immediately. It was very quick, and in a different tone than his usual tone.. but Lucia thought nothing of it. He was on his way to help, that's what mattered right now. Her foot tapped on the ground nervously, and suddenly, the robber stood in front of her, pointing the gun at her.
'You, girl. Give me your phone!' The robber yelled and pointed at her phone. She shook her head, not wanting to give him her phone. The robber groaned when she didn't want to give him her phone, so he grabbed her roughly by the arm. She was dragged off her chair and thrown on the ground, the man standing over her. Lucia scrambled and tried to get away from him, but the man put his boot on her head, pressing it down to the floor. Lucia started hyperventilating, panicking. The man was still pointing his gun at her, his finger itching towards the trigger. But before he could pull the trigger, he was tackled to the ground by a tall man.
It was Matteo. Matteo kept him down on the ground, brutally punching the man's face until the robber couldn't get up. When Matteo was sure that the robber won't get up, Matteo took the man's gun and tucked it into his own pants. He turned to Lucia and hurried over to her. He helped her up. 'Lucia, are you okay? Dad wasn't in today, his phone was going off like crazy... I'm glad I checked, we can't lose another lawyer.' Matteo said, checking Lucia over. Lucia was just looking at Matteo, utterly shocked. 'Y- Yeah.. I'm good.. it was just really really scary..' She replied. Matteo nodded, taking a few deep breaths to calm down. 'Alright... let's go back to the building. Next time, you're ordering to the building. Hell, I'll even pay for you. Just don't let this happen again.' Matteo said. Lucia looked at him shocked, her jaw dropped. 'No, no, you don't have to pay for it all! Gosh, coffee and food from shops like these are just so expensive, I can't have you pay for it constantly, it would be too m-'
Before Lucia could finish her sentence, she felt a finger on her lips, making her go quiet. 'Shh, don't worry. A lawyer needs her coffee, no? So don't worry, order as much as you want, have it delivered to the building. Don't worry about the expenses.' Matteo spoke softly. He quickly got distracted by her soft, plump limps, his finger going to her bottom lip. He stared for an embarrassingly long time, before he snapped out of it and let go of her. 'Grab your stuff and let's go back to the building. I will have to tell dad, though.' Matteo put his hands in his pockets as he waited for Lucia to grab her purse, coffee and lunch. 'Will he be mad?' Lucia asked, hurriedly gathering her stuff. Matteo chuckled and shook his head. 'No, not at you at least. Maybe he'll find the robber, and talk to him, if you know what I mean.' Matteo shrugged before he walked out of the coffee shop with Lucia. The two went back to the building in silence, but the silence wasn't awkward anymore.*
After work, Lucia went to some boutiques near her home for a formal gown. She grabbed the first one she liked and that was appropriate, trying it on. Deciding to not fuss a lot about it, she bought it with hurry and went home to get ready for the party. She took a quick shower, before putting the dress on and doing her makeup. She went for a slightly bolder look than her usual look, but made sure to match the dress. She picked some jewellery out that also matched the dress, some plain gold jewellery. She checked the time: shit! She almost had to be at the party! She grabbed her purse and put her essentials in it: identification, her phone, tissues and her signature lipgloss. Hurriedly, she said goodbye to her parents before going to the Sunrise, the restaurant-bar where the party was being held. Her nerves were at an all time high as she entered, but she tried to calm them by going to a few colleagues she recognised and had built a good relationship with. One of her colleagues, Eleanor, was one of the front desk ladies. 'Hey, Eleanor. You look great, the dress suits you!' Lucia smiled. 'Aww, thanks girl! I love your dress! Whoever you're trying to impress, will definitely be impressed.' Eleanor giggled and nudged her. Lucia couldn't help but blush: she didn't intend to impress anyone, but... she couldn't help but think about Matteo: would he be impressed? 'Ah, no, I didn't dress to impress..' Lucia spoke shlyly, looking around the restaurant-bar before seeing Aldo come in with his sons and daughter by his side.
