Part 37

As Katherine sat in the room alone, her kneels curled to her chest, she could hear muffled speech. "Maggie?" she shakily spoke and the conversation stopped "Kate? Kate, are you okay?" Maggie spoke and Katherine let out a sigh of relief before walking over to the wall "Is Glenn alive? Is he okay?" Katherine spoke as he pressed her cheek against the wall "We're okay." Maggie spoke and Katherine nodded, fighting the tears in her eyes "Did he do anything to you after he took you out?" Katherine asked Maggie, hoping Maggie would say no but after what he did to her...there was a high chance he could've done worse to her younger sister "He barely even touched me. I'm okay, Kate." Maggie spoke "Good, good, thank god." Katherine let out a shaky breath "What did he do to you?" Glenn asked "Nothing. It doesn't matter. What matters is you both are-are okay and alive." Katherine said. "We're gonna get you outta there, alright? We got a plan." Maggie said. She could then hear Maggie telling Glenn what had happened in the room she was just in. A little while later, Katherine suddenly heard rapid gunfire outside of the room before hearing the lock click on the door "Katherine, here!" Maggie yelled and Katherine booked it towards the door, running out and seeing Merle holding his knife hand to Glenn's throat "Let him go!" Maggie yelled as she pointed the gun at Merle "Okay." Merle smiled before some men rounded the corner "Give me the gun!" Merle yelled as he snatched the gun from Maggie's hands. "Get up!" he yelled at Glenn as Maggie stood next to Katherine, holding onto her arm. "Get on your knees. ALL OF YOU!" Merle yelled as he grabbed Katherine by the hair and dragged her inside the room Maggie and Glenn were just in, before throwing her to the ground.

Maggie and Glenn were escorted in and they got on their knees next to each other with Katherine on the end. "Glad we could catch up." Merle smiled as he stood in front of the trio. Maggie was crying, Glenn was holding her hand, and Katherine was just staring in front of her with no emotion on her face "Just keep looking at me." Glenn spoke "I love you." Maggie cried before a man walked over and put cloth bags on all of their heads. "On your feet, move, come on, let's go." a man ordered, and the three of them stood up as they were led out of the room before a loud explosion echoed and they all fell to the ground, yelling. Smoke filled the room and with bags on the three of their heads, it was hard enough to breathe, but as the smoke filled their lungs, they were practically suffocating. Rick gently removed the bag from Katherine's head before grabbing her arm and pulling her away as some others from their group got Glenn and Maggie and ran out. "Glenn-he's-he's more important." Katherine spoke and Rick nodded before Rick walked over to Glenn, putting Glenn's arm over his shoulder and rushing out of the building. "Inside, quick!" Rick whispered as the group approached an empty building. "Ain't no way out back here." Daryl spoke "Rick, how did you find us?" Maggie asked as she tended to Glenn on the ground "How bad are you hurt?" Rick asked Glenn "I'll be alright." Glenn groaned "Where's that woman?" Maggie asked "She was right behind us." Katherine spoke "Maybe she was spotted." Oscar said "Want me to go look for her?" Daryl asked.

"No. We gotta get 'em outta here." Rick pointed to Maggie, Glenn, and Katherine "She's on her own." Rick said "Daryl, this was Merle." Glenn spoke as Maggie helped him put a shirt on "It was, he did this." Glenn spoke "You saw him?" Rick asked "Face to face. He threw a walker at me. He was gonna execute us." Glenn explained "S-so my brother's this governor?" Daryl asked "No, it's somebody else." Katherine spoke "You're brother's his lieutenant or somethin'." Katherine continued and Daryl looked at her "Does he know I'm still with you?" Daryl asked Glenn and he, Maggie, and Katherine nodded "He does now. Rick, I'm sorry, we told him where the prison was." Glenn spoke and Katherine looked at him and Maggie "You told him?" she asked  "Don't Don't apologize." Rick told Glenn before looking back out the window "They're gonna be lookin' for us." Katherine told Rick "We have to get back. Can you walk?" Rick asked Glenn "We got a car a few miles out." Rick said as he rushed back over to Glenn "You good?" Daryl asked Katherine "No." she shook her head as she looked at him while Rick helped Glenn up "I-if Merle's around I need to see him." Daryl spoke "Not now, we're in hostile territory." Rick spoke "He's my brother, I ain't--" Daryl began "Look at what he did! Look we gotta--we gotta get outta here, now." Rick snapped "Maybe I can talk to him, maybe I can work somethin' out!" Daryl urged "No, no, no, you're not thinkin' straight." Rick shook his head "Look, no matter what they say, they're hurt. Glenn can barely walk. How are we gonna make it out if we get overrun by walkers and this governor catches up to us? I need you." Rick looked Daryl in the eyes as he spoke.  "Are you with me?" Rick panted as he looked at Daryl. "Yeah." Daryl replied.
