February 2014, Nagazora, Japan

Under the cover of night, the once-bustling city of Nagazora lay eerily silent, haunted by the recent outbreak of the Honkai virus. Liam, dressed in his casual combat attire—a sleek black jacket, reinforced pants, and sturdy boots—moved silently through the deserted streets. His long hair was tied back, and a communication ear pod was nestled in his ear. On his shoulder, Fou, his faithful companion, sat alert and watchful.

Nine hours had passed since the outbreak, and the city was a ghost town, either evacuated or overrun by Honkai zombies. As Liam leaped down from a building, avoiding unnecessary attention, he heard Einstein and Tesla talking through his ear pod.

"Be careful out there, Liam," Tesla scolded, her voice tinged with concern. "We can't afford to lose you."

"I know," Liam replied, his tone more annoyed than reassured. "I'm not a child."

Einstein's voice cut in, calm and analytical. "There's a high concentration of Honkai energy nearby. We need to investigate it."

Liam sighed and decided to end the conversation. "I'm switching off the ear pod. I'll check in later."

He continued on his way, moving cautiously through the city. As he turned a corner, he suddenly found himself face-to-face with three girls, all seemingly unharmed.

Liam screamed in surprise, and Fou let out a startled yelp. Two of the girls, dressed in school uniforms, screamed in response. The first had dark purple hair and bright sea-blue eyes, while the second had white hair tied into two big braids. The third girl, shorter and more composed, held a doll in her arms. She had light gray hair styled into drill-shaped ponytails and darker gray eyes, and she stared at Liam without a hint of fear.

The white-haired girl, Kiana, quickly drew two gun and aimed it at Liam. "Who the hell are you? Are you some kind of pervert? You scared us half to death!" she shouted, her voice a mix of anger and fear. "And you're probably a zombie!"

Liam, flustered and defensive, shot back, "What the hell? I'm not a zombie, and I'm definitely not a pervert! Why the hell are you yelling at me?"

The girl with dark purple hair, Mei, stepped between them, trying to calm the situation. "Kiana, please, let's all calm down," she said gently. "He's not a threat."

Kiana, still wary, lowered her gun slightly but kept her eyes on Liam. "Fine, but I'm watching you."

Liam, remembering something, looked at Kiana more closely. "Kiana... So you're Siegfried's kid," he muttered to himself, recalling a brief encounter with Siegfried years ago.

Kiana, not hearing his remark, turned to Mei and said, "Mei-senpai, why are we even talking to this guy?"

Liam, his tsundere nature kicking in, retorted, "Who asked you, brat? I'm just trying to help."

Kiana and Liam glared at each other, both bristling with irritation. Mei, exasperated, raised her voice, "Both of you, stop it! We don't have time for this!"

They both fell silent, glaring at each other and muttering, "Hmph!"

Mei took a deep breath and introduced herself and the others. "I'm Mei. This is Kiana, and this is Bronya."

Liam nodded, still wary. "I'm Liam, and this is Fou," he said, gesturing to the creature on his shoulder. "I'm here to help, but I don't trust easily."

Bronya, who had been silent, finally spoke up. "Welcome, subject Liam and subject Fou. Don't listen to Idiotka," she said, referring to Kiana.

Kiana bristled at the insult. "Hey, flat chest! Who are you calling Idiotka?"

Bronya's expression remained stoic. "Simply stating facts."
