Chapter One: The End
In the Kingdom of Fiore there was a guild called Fairy Tail. Like many guilds spread across the land of Earthland, this guild was filled with wizards. Earthland was a place filled with magic and certain people were able to wield this magic to preform acts of great skill; these people were called Mages and they would use their gifts to make a living for themselves. To achieve their ends some wizards had banded together to form guilds where they could gain jobs and meet fellow mages who could team up with them to accomplish greater feats than if alone.
Our story starts in one such guild, Fairy Tail was a place filled with wizards and one special wizard was named Lucy Heartfilia a blonde with soulful brown eyes and a figure most girls would kill for. She was a mage with the ability of summoning beings from a different dimension. She was a Celestial Spirit mage who with the help of magical keys was able to open gateways to the spirit world where manifestation of the constellation lived. These being answered her call and used their unique gifts to help her complete her missions. The beginning like other such stories starts in the middle of Lucy's life and continues as she finds adventure in her path.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It had never occurred to Lucy that what had happened wasn't her fault. When practically the entire guild stopped noticing her, she assumed she had done something wrong. It was the same with her father when she was little and he abandoned her so why wouldn't her new family behave the same. First it was her team disappearing on missions without her; then Mira the resident demon mage/barmaid stopped responding to her requests for service. Before she knew it two months had gone by and the only people who still talked to her in the guild were Wendy Marvel a Sky Dragon Slayer, Juvia Lockser a Water mage, and Gajeel Redfox an Iron Dragon Slayer plus their Exceed companions. Heck even Master Makarov the leader of the guild had to really concentrate to remember her name.
After trying with no success to get her friends to talk to her Lucy gave up and simply adjusted. Now five months after giving up, she had gotten used to doing missions mostly on her own. Lucy had spent her childhood on her own other than the servants so it wasn't that much of an adjustment. She was sad of course that people she thought of as family would do this to her but these last few months had enabled her to start talking to her father again and so she found she wasn't as alone as she first thought. In fact without her team there to distract her she had been able to make friends with people she had only talked to on occasion.
Having to do missions on her own had allowed her to branch out and really see what type of missions there were other than fighting? She had been able to go on a lost child rescue with Pantherlily the battle Exceed and Gajeel who used his superior senses taught to him by his father the actual Dragon Metalicana to hunt the little boy down through a deserted valley. Juvia and her had helped a small village with a loss of fish problem though she learned never to let Aquarius her mermaid water spirit and Juvia go out drinking, the two women almost flooded the entire town when they got on to men and forgetting birthdays. Wendy who had been raised and taught healing by her mother the Dragon Grandeeney and her Exceed partner Carla had helped her when a town had suffered an earthquake, and needed helpers to get them back on their feet. Yes surprisingly enough Lucy had had fun these last few months getting to know others from this guild and others.
Standing in front of the mission board Lucy was trying to find a job that sounded interesting. She had been unconsciously sorting as she went, putting fighting and monster hunting requests together on the left and research and intellectual requests on the right. Seeing a request for teachers at a nearby school Lucy moved it so that it was at more of Vijeeter's (a dance mage) and Nab's (an animal soul wizard) height then continued looking. She was about to give up and go get lunch when she saw a job with just the reward she wanted. Inwardly cheering her good fortune she blew her blonde haired bangs out of the way as she quickly read the rest of the mission flyer (putting off till later that she really needed to see Cancer her crab scissor wielding spirit about a haircut).
Mysterious Disappearance
Please help us. Our daughters are going missing. There have been no traces found. Need magical assistance (possible dark guild involvement).
Location: Sweet Haven
Requester: Mayor Robert Altman
Reward: 300,000 jewels and one unknown artefact key.
Lucy knew from experience that this request could go one of two ways: easy with the girls simply having left town on their own for some reason or hard in that the girls had been kidnapped or worse killed. Normally when it involved an unknown number of hostiles, Lucy would arrange to take someone else with her but neither Wendy, Juvia, nor Gajeel were in the guild at the moment. Knowing time was of the essence; Lucy firmed her resolve and snatched the flyer from the board. As she walked over to the bar she read it one more time before Lucy reached over and grabbed the request book and stamp. Stamping the flyer she waited for the info to appear then filled in the blank section with listing name and probable departure time. Reminding herself to leave a message at Gajeel's house about where and what she was doing (a precaution he forced all three girls to adhere too), Lucy checked the flyer one more time before she signed her name.
Finished Lucy hopped off the bar and stumbled as she almost tumbled into a mage strutting across the guild hall. She looked up surprised as Bickslow the guilds Seith mage and the rest of his team the Thunder Legion walked by. Lucy didn't even bothering apologising as he simply ignored her existence like the rest of the guild and kept heading for the doors. Shrugging it off Lucy was about to look for Master to warn him of the mission when five floating objects showed up. She couldn't help but smile as they started laughing and shouting.
"Cosplayer, Cosplayer!"
Watching them tumble over each other, Lucy laughed at their silly antics and the name Bickslow had bestowed on her in happier times. What she didn't notice was the way the Seith Mage jerked and tripped as he fell through the guild front door. When one of the Tiki's floated closer and started purring against her face Lucy couldn't help but lift up her hand and coo.
"Babies aren't you just the sweetest thing. Hi Pepe did you miss me? The next time you all get back from a mission come find me and I'll let you play with Plue and Gemini again. Ok?"
Rolling in the air with laughter the Tiki's which she knew contained the lost souls of deceased mages were Bickslow's main form of magic. The little ones all flew closer to Lucy and started circling her as they shouted out.
"Plue, Gemi, Mini, Babies, play."
Waving and smiling as Lucy ducked under the floating troublemakers she started for the second floor staircase to find Master. Halfway up Lucy paused turned and shouted back her goodbye.
"Bye Babies, see you soon. Take care of yourselves and watch out for your dad you here. You try to keep him out of trouble."
Giggling again, the Babies flew around Lucy oncethen zoomed out the doors after their Mage shouting bye Cosplayer to Lucy asthey vanished. Turning back to face the upper floor Lucy spotted the Master andput the rumbustious spirits out of her head; what she couldn't have possiblyknown was at that moment their 'dad' was walking towards the train station withhis team wondering why the Babies had called someone Cosplayer and why he hadthe most Mavis awful feeling he should know that name himself.
