Chapter One: Stranded in Space

As Ripley became aware she heard a noise that she knew couldn't be a good sign. Focusing on the alarm she could hear blaring, Ripley forced her mind to wake up and take in the situation. Ripley vaguely recognised the metallic and stale atmosphere of a cryo-pod and the headache and nausea that followed a sleep status. As she slowly pushed up and leaned forward she was surprised when after she pushed up the cryo-tube opened on its own. As she got sat up and looked around the empty medical bay Ripley realised she could hear something other than the alarm a voice was calling her name. Glancing round even with the headache Ripley finally saw a nearby monitor flashing.

Staggering up as the space sickness made her unstable on her feet Ripley wished the bloody alarm would shut up already. Using the different stations and tables Ripley slowly shuffled across the room towards the lit up screen. Making it to the console she pushed on the communication button wondering who was speaking to her. The moment she pressed the button the annoying alarm finally shut off and the silence was broken by a voice Ripley barely recognised.

"Ripley is that you? You need to pull up the ship main control screen quickly, we don't have much time."

Ripley shook away the cobwebs and got busy with the control keyboard. Shifting around she finally accessed the mainframe and saw an image of her friend Bishop the medical android that was attached to the recently deceased marine unit appeared confirming her hunch as to the voices identity.

"Ripley you need to hurry. The Company has overridden the system and has re-routed the ship to an out of the way facility that according to my black files is an experiment and research lab. They know about the 'Serpents' and the ship has been wired to detain and capture alive all subjects."

At the word Serpents Ripley's brain finally reengaged and she became hyper focused. Everything that had happened on that Godforsaken Moon came back to her and she remembered exactly what the Company had caused in their quest for greed and a new bio-weapon. Ripley's priorities quickly locked on to the most important thing.

"Bishop is there any way to take back control of the ship?"

Even as she spoke Ripley scanned through the information Bishop had in the computer files. Seeing the capture orders Ripley knew the Company wanted them for test subjects and that they would simply disappear and be declared dead with the marines and planet. Getting more worried as she saw more data on where they were headed Ripley didn't need Bishop's answer anymore as she saw the override codes the Company had used: they were screwed.

Swearing Ripley punched the wall in frustration as she realised all they been through on the planet LV-426 was for nothing. The Company was going to make sure they vanished so no one would know about what happened and how all those people died because the Company had ordered them to investigate the Alien ship and bring back the 'Serpents' egg to be used to make a weapon. Calming down Ripley knew she had to think; she couldn't let her emotions control her she had her newly adopted daughter Newt and the injured marine Hicks to worry about.

Turning back to the computer Ripley flicked though the orders and the ships schematics looking for a loophole that might let them get out of this mess. It took her several minutes to find something that she might be able to use. The monitoring systems within the ship appeared to be damaged as they kept fritzing and it was registering more life signs than she knew there were people. She was about to ask Bishop to recalibrate the system and spoof the software when what she was seeing actually occurred to her.

"Shit! Fuck Bishop for the love of God tell me those aren't what I think they are."

As Ripley hurriedly scanned through the system moving from the life signs detector to the security systems and video archive she could already see the answer for herself as Bishop spoke.
