So, a director named Gary Jones made a film in 1996 called mosquito. It gained a cult following and still has one. But in 2000, he made a film called spiders. Spiders is a horror sci-fi film. It's about a spider that gets modified and it grows throughout the movie. A group of three find a rocket crash and soon ended up in a military base where the spider also ended up at. I personally love this film, I watched it quite a few years ago and I still enjoy it. It's a fun, cheesey, B movie that I recommend watching if you want something entertaining.
The acting's acceptable and does It's job. The practical effects are good and the CGI is mid. Also, the budget for the film was $2 million. Now, practical effects are expensive and there's multiple puppet spiders in that film that looks really good. So I say they used their money wisely because it's hard to not go over budget if you're using a lot of practical effects for $2 million.
