Light flashes in the corner of my eye. At the same moment, the house tremble with thunder. Two seconds later, faster than a blink of an eye, I caught another glimpse of lightning. It illuminates the sky with its brightness of color; just as the moon would, the sun of night. Another moment goes by and I can hear the sound that makes the world go quiet.

I've always loved the rain. I loved the sounds it made when the skies were angry with us humans. Some believe it's scary and haunting, to me I found it peaceful and still.

Rain was our connection. We got to sit while I read and he writes, and music played in the background, and time stood still while it was just us.

That's all I ever wanted. Just us.
