"George... you couldn't have thought that your plan would work," the Smiling Man said, crossing his arms as he leaned against a wall. George let out a shaky breath as he turned to look at his friends. Sam stared back, nothing but fear in his eyes reflected off. Puffy and Quackity clung to each other tightly as they prayed. They wanted to get out of that place safely. Callahan, on the other hand, stood there. He couldn't think of anything. He kept switching between staring at George for answers or the Smiling Man with a hopeful expression so he wouldn't punish them.
"I..." George stuttered, turning to look at the murderer in the room. "I'm sorry..."
"You're sorry?" the Smiling Man laughed, uncrossing his arms as he pushed himself off the wall. "You have to be kidding me, you're sorry? For what? For trying to get your friends out? Anyone who is dumb and stupid enough would do that," the man said. George flinched at the insult. "Do you expect me to forgive you? To let you leave with them and pretend that you didn't drag someone into this mess that didn't need to be? Hell. You could've saved Sam from dealing with all of this!"
George shook his head, feeling tears prick in his eyes. "I fucked up! What if he hurts Sapnap now...? No. He can't. He won't do it knowing Sap likes him." He thought. The Smiling Man sighed as he approached the Brit. Everyone behind George flinched, backing up slightly. "George!" Sam called out, trying to pull the Brit down.
"Sam, Callahan—Go outside. Someone needs to have a word with you," the Smiling Man ordered. Callahan immediately nodded, thinking that giving in and listening would help his case. He looked back at Sam. The boy hesitated. "Sam," George said, turning to look at his friend. "Please, do as he says. Follow Cal."
Sam sighed as he grabbed Callahan's hand, following the boy away from the group. They approached the door and left, leaving George to wonder what Punz had to say to them. "You two," the Smiling Man said, looking over George's shoulder. Quackity and Puffy looked at the man, shaking. "Go downstairs. Don't put on the restraints. Just sit down and wait," he said.
George tilted his head, staring at the man before him in confusion. Quackity slowly nodded, pulling Puffy down. "Close the door," Dream said. George reached for the basement door, closing it with force as it began to stop before reaching the doorframe. "What are you going to do?" George asked.
Dream shrugged as he took the mask off, throwing it to the couch. He tugged at his coat, pulling it off. "For one, you're no longer watching over the hostages. As punishment, you're going with me to kidnapping or murders—" Dream said. George's eyes widened in horror, "What?! No!"
"You are going to be my partner. My boss knows about you now. They'll love that someone is helping with clean-ups and tortures."
"No! Anything but that! What about Punz?!" George yelled, "Why can't he do it? I'll work with your boss myself! I'll do anything!"
Dream shook his head, "I know how much you hate the thought of killing or simply being involved with something. But since you went behind my back and tried to 'rescue' your friends and dragged someone into this mess, you deserved to be punished. Don't you think?"
"And Punz already has a job. He works with my boss. He received the names and locations of the people to kill or kidnap. He also helps me get new supplies if I need more. He sometimes helps during the process if I need it."
George sighed as he began to let the tears fall on his face. He could feel his knees grow weak as they shook. "Are you going to hurt Sapnap?" he asked, hearing his voice crack. Dream frowned at the thought of the boy. George noticed immediately, causing the blonde to turn away from him. Dream crossed his arms, staying silent for a moment. "No. I could never hurt him..."
