Knock! Knock! Knock!
Dream jumped, abruptly waking up. He had been asleep all morning. It was a Saturday. He wanted to sleep in. He had no plans that weekend. He had simply been waiting for his parents' return. General Stanely had told him his parents would be released soon, that one of these upcoming days, he'd be able to see them again, his sister included. He's been waiting anxiously since then. It's been a week since he was informed, though. So, Dream began to doubt his boss's word. Above that, he had been more anxious about Sapnap. The boy hadn't gone to school that whole week. He had texted the boy, hoping he'd get an answer. Sapnap merely responded, "I'm not feeling well. I'll be back next week."
Now, with the obnoxious knocking on his front door, he couldn't help but groan out loud in annoyance. "Fuck! Who the hell is knocking at this time?!" he asked, looking at his phone. He turned it on, staring at the numbers shown. It was noon. "Fuck."
He got up after hearing a second round of knocking. The blonde sighed as he got up from bed, ignoring his blanket that fell to the floor. He reluctantly walked down the hallway, slowly walking down the stairs to annoy the person waiting outside. Knock! Knock! Knock! Dream smiled, letting out a groan as he reached the door. He twisted the knob, pulling the door open. "Hello?—Oh, hey—" Dream stared at General Stanely with annoyance.
"Hello, kid. I've got a job and news for you," the man said. Dream sighed as he stepped aside, letting the General inside. "I see you've slept in quite late today."
Dream nodded, sitting on the couch. Stanely smiled as he sat across the blonde. "So, what do you want to hear first? The job or the news?" the man asked. Dream shrugged, "News."
Stanely took a deep breath before giving the blonde a big smile. "You're aware that your parents are in the process of being released from the government's custody, right?" he asked. Dream nodded. "Guess what?"
Dream rolled his eyes, "What?"
"They're arriving today. Your parents and sister will be at the door by four in the afternoon! Isn't that exciting?" General Stanely said. Dream's eyes widened. "You've done phenomenal with your work. You're keeping your friends in check now that they know what you do. Honestly, I don't know how you do it. I've thought long and hard about returning your family. I thought you'd quit once they returned. But I trust that you won't. Am I right?"
Dream nodded. General Stanely chuckled, "Typical Dream. Always silent. Now, are you ready for your job?"
Dream nodded.
"It would be nice to hear you say something," Stanely said. Dream rolled his eyes as he leaned against the couch, rubbing his temple. "What's the job? I'll do it now if I can."
Stanely smiled, "You'll be able to do it immediately once you know who it involves. Do you know a kid by the name Sapnap Armstrong?"
Dream stood up, "What? What happened? Don't tell me I have to..."
General Stanely shook his head, "No, no! You don't have to do anything to him. Let me explain. But first, what is your relationship with him? It may or may not affect how you do your job today."
"We like each other. But we're nothing serious. It's more like a fling right now. I guess you could say we're also friends," Dream said. "He's not ready for something serious yet. He's been through things."
Stanely nodded, "Well, he's been through something else last week. I assume he hasn't told you since you haven't acted." Dream tilted his head. The blonde approached the man, standing tall. "What the hell happened to him?"
"Don't freak out! Last week on Monday, Sapnap was at the police station. He was there to report an assault. When I arrived with my troops, I sat with him and asked him questions. He told me that he had been sexually assaulted by a man he knows on Sunday." General Stanely said.
