"I didn't expect you to come, after all the things you did to me"
"I didn't do anything to you other than blocking you and lying to you" You replied. You weren't any saint.
"That's called nothing?"
"I think white lying is not a bad thing... and blocking you was a mistake, and that was my fault. I accept it" You said, your palms sweaty and you were hardly keeping eye contact with her, and her... almost lackeys.
"Oh please, you hated hanging out with me, you lied your way out. Everything you said to me was a lie in the end..."
"I did lie once, but all the other things I said were true, my mom did come to dislike you once she noticed how clingy you were... that was one of the main reasons I wasn't able to hang out with you, you know I listen to my mom"
"If my mom ever-"
"We are not the same... I respect my mom"
"Alright, then what about the time you went to renew your visa?"
"I didn't say anything to you, so I didn't lie, but hid some facts" You said while rolling your eyes. "You look like you are still hurt, I will compensate you for your loss... because no matter what you gave me as a gift, it was an excuse to say 'after everything I gave to you', wasn't it?" I asked and took a stack of bills out of my purse and threw it to one of my... well, former friends.
"I don't need y-"
"You need it, because you think you were wronged... but remember, you manipulated me to the point I still consider you as one of my bestest friends I had throughout my life" You said while turning around, suddenly, you felt someone grabbing your hair. You shouldn't have left your hair undone. You turned around slowly and calmly. "You could always ask me to stay, without getting violent" Keep your cool. Keep your cool. Keep your cool. Don't get angry.
She let go of your hair. "You are such a bitch"
"I am, in fact... I consider myself to be the meanest bitch anyone could ever encounter... You, on the other hand, don't even have a word in the dictionary to describe you"
A stinging pain on your left cheek was the only thing you felt in the heat of the moment. You didn't hold back when returning the favor. Her friends quickly held her tightly to not let her lose control. You had no one on your side and it was painful. You didn't like that feeling. Being alone. You didn't want tears to gather on your eyes. You didn't want to cry. Don't cry. Don't cry.
"Eh~ you held back" A whisper in your ear, You turned your head to see the one and only Gojo Satoru, the only one you didn't expect to see here. "If you think that was your all, that was a lie... go on, use your arms"
Seeing your eyes soften and a small smile appear on your lips was more than enough for Satoru to lose control. Hardly, he controlled himself. "Go on, finish what you started" He whispered.
Just him encouraging you was more than enough for you to calm down and think rationally. "I won't report this to the police, take the money and leave... Thank you for being my friend for a long time... It meant a lot to me" You smiled and turned around, walking through your way towards the staircase with Satoru by your side.
Gojo took off his white Tuxedo jacket and draped it over your shoulders "What was that cat fight?" He asked.
"You have a lot to explain to me before that, Mr. Gojo Satoru" You said with a small smile.
"Well, I messaged you a lot and you didn't answer me... when you sent me the address, I teleported here... and saw this was a big hotel and teleported back home and wore my best tux to not embarrass you and teleported back here again to see you were in a warm fight."
"You must be tired" You mumbled with a small sigh, feeling you were at fault.
"Thanks for worrying, but I am alright" He had a playful smile, he looked down at you. "I can be your boyfriend for the rest of the night, you know? Let's make it my payment for teleporting here and there"
"No need, I'm not planning to go back inside that hall" you sighed, getting out of there was very hard enough.
"You seem tired, and a little..." he paused, he wasn't wearing his blindfold, his emotions laid bare for a second before his gaze went back to that playful bratty look "hmm... like a baby"
"A baby?" You scoffed before laughing softly.
"Baby's have so much in their minds, but they can't talk... quite similar to your case, no? You don't talk, well... maybe there is a difference, because they can cry and you won't cry"
"I... yeah" you nod, your lips were glazed with a smile and that was more than enough for Satoru.
"You looked so cool back there, like a lioness" he smiled playfully as you two walked down to the entrance of the hotel.
"Lioness" You laughed but your laugh was cut off by Satoru pulling you by your hand to the platform of the fountain blubbering water up high. "Hey, what are you-"
"Shh... I'll take this dance, my lady" He whispered, placing your left hand on his shoulder and pulling your hand up with his other. His hand naturally fell into your waist, pulling you against his body. "Water and tears look a lot similar, just a fun fact" he whispered while stepping side by side with you. Pushing you away and twirling you around before pulling you right back into his hands. You both were a wet mess. The silk dress was pasted onto your skin and your hair was attached to your face. Red eyes and rosy nose were both hidden from his chest.
He was very quiet the whole time, no teasing, no laughing or anything. Just in front of you, with you. That loneliness was not there anymore, just the pain of those memories of not having someone with you and the happiness of someone forcing you out of that lonely bubble.
"I really needed someone with me tonight" You whispered and sniffled softly.
"That's what I thought. It's alright to need someone, you know?"
"Is it? But I usually push them away and feel guilty afterwards" You looked up at him, his white hair was stuck on his forehead.
"Well, now I know you do that" He smiled and wiped your cheeks using his thumb.
"So much for acting secretive when crying" your lips twitching upwards.
"Your face says it all, you are like a... open... what was it? Diary?"
"Book"
"Ah! Right, book" He smiled and bowed to you at the end of the dance and took your hand for a sweet kiss, where his lips lingered for a second more than it should.
"We should get changed, or else both of us will get a cold"
"Then we shall go!" He smiled and guided you back to the hotel and booked a room to change.
The rooms were very spacious and luxurious, the true meaning of elegant. His hand only left you when he took you to the bathroom.
"Wear this bathrobe, I'll buy something for us to wear while you wash up, okay?" He said while patting the bathrobe folded neatly on the counter. He turned around and was about to close the door when you stopped him.
"Uh... do you... you should take my car" You handed him your purse. "The key is inside" You mumbled and sighed "thanks, for not forcing anything out of me"
"Anytime" He whispered, pressed a soft kiss to your cheek, more than enough for you to forget about crying again before leaving the room. He was actually quite disappointed. He was sure you were going to ask him to join the bath. But he also knew he was expecting too much from the girl who's heart does not skip a beat when he leans closer, hovering his lips over hers.
