The next day, during an afternoon coffee run, Jisung decided to check his messages. He was flabbergasted by the person who had messaged him—Jaemin. He looked so young, so youthful. Why would a ten want to chat with him? What if this was some prank to embarrass him?

Jisung hesitated before typing out a reply.

Jisung: Oh hey!

Jaemin: Hiii! Glad to know you're okay after what happened last week.

Jisung: Confused. How do you know about last week?

Jaemin: Oh, my bad. You probably don't remember me. I caught you when you fainted.

Jisung was stunned. Not only that, he felt like an ass for not calling him to express his gratitude.

Jisung: Thank you so much. I'm so forgetful sometimes.

Jaemin: No worries! I understand the artist's state of mind.

Jisung: Are you an artist yourself?

Jaemin: I used to be. Now I'm a CEO who enjoys art museums and helping fellow artists.

Jisung: Cool. So, I hope I'm not being too straightforward, but did you text me just because of last week, to check on me?

Jaemin: Mostly, but I am on this website for a reason.

Jisung couldn't help but smile a bit. However, he had to compose himself; it was just going to be an agreement after all.

Jisung: Well, me too. Not gonna lie, this is my first try because I'm not that social in person.

Jaemin: Your friend had told me a bit, and if you're not comfortable telling me yet, I don't mind.

Jisung: You said you wanted to get to know me, though.

Jaemin: Correct, but we are still strangers. I just don't want to force you into anything.

Jisung: Okay, well I would like to get to know you too before we have an agreement. How about two weeks? Then we can meet in person if we wish to discuss the agreement.

Jaemin: 100% cool.

Jisung felt a wave of relief wash over him. Maybe this connection was exactly what he needed—a chance to start anew and find someone who understood him, even just a little.
