The morning sun filtered through the curtains of Jisung's apartment, casting a warm glow across the room. Jisung, feeling unusually uplifted and content after his day at the cat cafe with Jaemin, moved with a newfound energy. The weight of his recent argument with Chenle had been heavy on his mind, but the peaceful moments with the cats had given him a fresh perspective.
After a quick breakfast, Jisung picked up his phone and scrolled through his contacts. He found Chenle's number and hesitated for a moment. The sting of their last conversation was still fresh, but he knew that if he wanted to mend their friendship, he needed to take the first step. With a deep breath, he dialed Chenle's number.
The phone rang a few times before Chenle's voice answered, a mix of surprise and caution in his tone. "Hello?"
"Hey, Chenle. It's Jisung," he said, his voice steady despite the nervous flutter in his chest. "I hope I'm not catching you at a bad time."
There was a brief pause on the other end. "Jisung? No, it's fine. What's up?"
"I wanted to talk," Jisung began, feeling the weight of his words. "I've been thinking a lot about our last conversation. I realize now that I didn't handle things well, and I'm sorry for that."
Chenle's tone softened, but there was still a hint of hesitation. "I appreciate you saying that. It's just... I was worried about you, Jisung. You've been spending a lot of money, and I didn't know what was going on."
"I know," Jisung replied. "And I should have been more open with you. I've been dealing with a lot, and I guess I didn't know how to explain it. But I'm in a better place now, and I want to make things right between us."
Chenle's silence lingered for a moment before he spoke again. "I'm glad to hear that you're doing better. I miss our friendship, Jisung. I didn't mean to push you away."
"I miss it too," Jisung said earnestly. "I was thinking maybe we could meet up, talk things over, and maybe even grab a coffee or something? I'd really like to catch up and clear the air."
There was a thoughtful pause on the other end. "Yeah, I'd like that. How about we meet at that café we used to go to? It's been a while since we've been there."
"That sounds perfect," Jisung agreed, a sense of relief washing over him. "How about today around noon?"
"See you then," Chenle said warmly. "And Jisung, thanks for reaching out."
Jisung ended the call with a hopeful smile. He felt lighter, knowing that he had taken a positive step toward repairing his friendship with Chenle. He spent the next few hours getting ready, choosing an outfit that he felt comfortable and confident in. It wasn't just about making amends—it was about reconnecting and moving forward.
When noon arrived, Jisung arrived at the café, a charming little spot with a cozy atmosphere and a collection of quirky decor. The familiar scent of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods greeted him as he walked in. He spotted Chenle already seated at a corner table, his back to the door.
Jisung approached with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. "Hey, Chenle."
Chenle looked up, and his face brightened with a genuine smile. "Jisung! It's good to see you."
They hugged briefly, and Jisung felt a surge of warmth. They took their seats, and Chenle gestured to the menu. "What can I get you?"
"I think I'll have the usual," Jisung said, feeling a sense of normalcy returning. "And maybe a slice of that carrot cake."
As they placed their orders, Chenle looked at Jisung with a mix of curiosity and concern. "So, how have you really been? I'm glad to hear you're in a better place."
Jisung took a deep breath, feeling more at ease now that he was face-to-face with his friend. "I've been going through a lot, but I'm starting to find my footing. Jaemin has been really supportive, and I think things are finally starting to look up."
Chenle's eyes widened slightly. "Jaemin? The CEO?"
"Yeah," Jisung confirmed. "He's been helping me with my art and just being a really good friend."
Chenle nodded, absorbing the information. "I'm glad you've found someone who supports you. And I'm sorry if I came across as judgmental. I just want what's best for you."
"I know," Jisung said sincerely. "And I appreciate your concern. It means a lot to me."
Their conversation flowed more naturally as they enjoyed their coffee and cake, reminiscing about old times and sharing updates about their lives. The tension from their previous argument slowly dissolved, replaced by a renewed sense of camaraderie. By the time they finished their coffee, both Jisung and Chenle felt a sense of resolution. T
