Hammad's life was now a pool of activity, every moment consumed by preparations for his upcoming Nikkah. He was determined to make every detail perfect, not just for himself, but for his beloved, his soon-to-be wife. She was his heart's delight, a precious gift from Allah. In his eyes, she wasn't just pure-she was purity itself, a blessing blessed upon him by the Almighty. He wanted her to feel cherished, to know that she was the most special person in his life.
But among all these joyful preparations, a shadow lingered in Hammad's heart. A deep, growing fear. It wasn't for himself, but for his hyung, his brother in all but blood-his Yoongi hyung.
As he sat on his prayer mat after offering Tahajjud, the quiet of the night surrounding him, Hammad's heart was heavy. He recited the words of the Quran, but his mind was elsewhere, lost in thoughts of his hyung. Tears welled up in his eyes, blurring the words before him, and eventually spilled down his cheeks.
His chest tightened with the intensity of his emotions, his soul wounded by the pain he felt for his brother. Unable to bear it any longer, he gently closed the Quran, marking his place with a ribbon, and raised his hands in supplication.
Hammad's voice trembled as he began to pray, his throat dry and aching from the effort to keep his emotions in check.
Hammad: "Ya Allah... Ya Rabbul Alameen... Ya Rahman, Ya Raheem, Ya Ghafoor... All greatness belongs to You alone... Forgive me, Ya Allah, forgive my sins. Grant me peace, Ya Allah, my heart is bleeding, please, do something... I can't bear this anymore."
The tears flowed freely now, his sobs wracking his body as he poured his heart out to the One who knows all.
Hammad: "Ya Allah, the way You blessed me with Your guidance, I beg of You... I will beg for this for as long as I live... Please, grant my hyung the same hidayah. Ya Allah, he's suffering so much more than I ever could... He's in so much pain, Ya Allah, please, have mercy on him... Ya Allah, please..."
His thoughts turned to the memories of his brother's struggles-the fear and powerlessness Yoongi had endured when he tried to heal from the wounds left by Camila, the hope that had flickered in his eyes when he finally began to trust in love again, only to have that hope cruelly crushed as he found himself ensnared by her once more.
Hammad: "I don't know what he's going through, Ya Rabbul Alameen, but I beg You... release him from this trail. Give him the peace he so desperately needs. Ya Allah, my heart breaks every time I think of him. Please, Ya Allah, do something... I place my trust in You alone, for You are my last and only hope."
He remained on his prayer mat, his tears soaking into the fabric, his hands still raised in supplication. The night was silent, save for his quiet sobs and the occasional whispered plea. But in that moment of utter vulnerability, Hammad felt a strange, comforting warmth surround him. It was as if, in his darkest hour, Allah was embracing him, reminding him that his prayers were heard, that he was not alone.
Hammad slowly opened the Quran again, the delicate pages soft beneath his fingertips. His heart was still heavy, but he knew he needed to continue from where he had left off. As he began to recite, his voice was low, his heart and mind fully absorbed in the divine words. The world outside faded away, and in that quiet space, it was just Hammad and his Creator.
As he read the next ayah, something shifted deep within him. His eyes widened in disbelief, and his breath caught in his throat. The words struck him like lightning, and tears welled up, spilling over as he tried to continue. But his voice broke, his hands trembling as goosebumps covered his skin. He could barely hold the Quran steady, so powerful was the impact of the verse he had just read.
