That's part 1 of last chapter...
Going to be emotional rollercoaster so please 😭😭

______

"Hyung..." Hammad's voice cracked. "When you saw Malaak in the middle of the road... bleeding, broken... and you also saw Joonho. Why didn't you catch him? Why didn't you end this once and for all?"

Yoongi's expression hardened, his jaw tightening as a flood of emotions overtook him. He looked away for a moment, as though searching for the right words. When he finally spoke, his voice carried the weight of heartbreak, anger, and helplessness.

"Hammad... if your love-the person who means everything to you-was lying in your arms, barely breathing, blood covering them from head to toe... what would you have done? Chase the devil who caused it all... or save the love of your life?"

Hammad froze, his lips parting, but no words came. He felt the truth of Yoongi's words pierce through him like a dagger.

Yoongi continued, his voice trembling now, a mix of pain and vulnerability. "Before I could even think of doing anything else... Malaak passed out in my arms. Her pulse was faint, her body... cold. How could I leave her like that?"

A silence fell between them, suffocating and unbearable. Hammad lowered his head, unable to meet Yoongi's eyes.

Yoongi's voice softened, but his emotions spilled over. "From that day... she's been in a coma. And every day for six months, I sat in that hospital room, praying, begging for her to wake up. I couldn't do anything else but be there... for her."

Tears glistened in Yoongi's eyes as his body shook. His hands gripped the edge of the table, knuckles white. This was a side of Yoongi Hammad had never seen before-his hyung, always composed, now utterly broken.

Hammad couldn't bear it anymore. He pushed back his chair abruptly, his breathing ragged as he stood. "I need air," he whispered, his voice barely audible before he stormed out of the room, tears streaming down his face.

Outside, Hammad collapsed against the wall, his sobs racking his body. He clenched his fists, the guilt, and helplessness consuming him. How had it come to this?

Back in the room, Yoongi wiped at his face, but the tears kept falling. He was drowning in memories-of Malaak's lifeless body, the endless nights in the hospital, the rage that burned every time he thought of Joonho.

Later that day...

Hammad met with his lawyer, still shaken. "He did it... for her. For both of us," Hammad began, explaining Yoongi's actions.

The lawyer listened patiently before nodding. "What he did may have been out of love and desperation, but the law sees actions, not intentions. Crime is crime, Hammad. Killing is killing. But..." the lawyer paused, "with evidence of the circumstances, his punishment could be reduced. Seven months at most."

Hammad swallowed hard, his mind reeling. Seven months felt like both a relief and a dagger to his heart. Could Yoongi endure it after everything he'd already suffered? Could he?

________

He stared at her motionless form, the rise and fall of her chest the only proof that she was still with him. Tears streamed down his cheeks, unchecked, as he whispered, his voice heavy with pain.

"When will you wake up, Malaak?" he said, his voice breaking. "Look at me... I'm broken. Do you see that? Do you?" His hands tightened around the railing as fresh tears fell. "You hated it when I cried... when I showed any weakness to anyone. You always told me to be strong. So why now?"

He paused, his breath shaky as a sob escaped his lips. "Why are you lying there so silent, listening to me cry like a fool? Say something, Malaak! React... anything." His voice grew louder before fading into a whisper. "Please..."
