Angelina
I breezed through the Spanish exam. It was easy to me, and there was no one who could out do me in the whole class. The exam was 2 hours, and I always like to tell myself I needed the entire time. In actuality, I only needed about 30 minutes to take the test. The rest of the time was meant for checking answers and quiet contemplation.
I always waited till there were only a few kids left before I turned in my test; after all, what was the harm?
I looked around the room and saw about five or six students still taking the exam, so I decided it was my time to exit the space. I gently placed the paper on the teachers desk and walked out of the room.
As I made a b-line for the stairs, someone behind me shouted, "Angie!"
I turned and cringed to see Amanda charging at me. She threw her arms around me and hugged me tight.
"It's so good to see you!" She smiled widely as if we were best friends."It's-uhm-nice to see you too." I smirked at her.
"How are you doing?" She took my arm in her own and begs to walk with me.
"I'm-uh-fine." I lied.
"Really?" She tried to delve deeper, "I hope that stuff yesterday and the other night didn't mess you up or anything." She cooed.
"Oh...no, no it's fine." I lied again.
Nothing really was fine; my little problem was escalating to a bigger problem, and to top it all off, just last night I had gotten a gift and a letter...a dirty, dirty letter.
"Well if you're sure!" She beamed as we started to walk down the stairs.
I peered at my watch at saw it blink 11:55am.
I had all of five minutes to make it to the parking lot.
"Anyways-," Amanda continued. "I hope your exams went well and everything!
I just shook my head at her as we touched the bottom floor.
"Are you leaving school now?" She asked with a smile.
"Yes," I shook my head again, "I have a ride." I gestured to the parking lot.
"Who's picking you up?"she wondered a loud. "Is Stella?"
"No," I laughed a bit. "She can't drive."
"So who's getting you?" She giggled.
"Well," I began, but in that moment I felt someone come from behind and wrap their arms around me.
My body froze.
"Hello Girls!" Marcus's voice sounded out. "Where are you two off to?"
Amanda shoved his arm off her, "Angie is going home and I am going to the library." She put her hand on her hip.
"Home?" He turned his gaze to me. "Already??"
I just shook my head as his arm moved more on my shoulders.
"Why so early?" He put weight on me and I felt the need to move away from him.
"Oh-I-I just-ah," I tried to explain, but at that moment, exactly 12, JJ came zooming into the parking lot. "There-There's my ride!" I pointed to his car.
"Oh!" He vocalized. "Is that your mom?" He asked.
"No," I answered as JJ pulled the car on the curb.
As the window rolled down, I sensed what was coming...
"ANGELINA!" He shouted. "Let's go!" I saw his eyes narrowed as he saw Marcus leaning on me. "Move it!" He rushed.
