Wyldstyle's government has consolidated itself more and more since coming to power, in spite of the military's resentment and the determined opposition of the Nationalist Right. However, the current state of affairs clearly is not enough for the Republican parties.
Today, Wyldstyle, cheered on by deputies from pro-Republican parties of all persuasions, announced her intention to pass the "Parliamentary Special Powers Act", imposing severe checks on executive power and giving the Democraticly elected Parliament the final say on almost all matters of Syspocalypstar. This has already generated uproar from President Business' "Cross of Fire", and the Monarchist Action, while Watevra is yet to pass any comment.
Although Wyldstyle's government has a clear majority in the Assembly, small parts of her own Republican Center, as well as part of the Defense Rally Party do harbour some deputies of more Authoritarian persuasions, whose sympathies for an executive state could well be galvanized through a concerted effort by the right.

Over the past days, both the Cross of Fire and Monarchist Action have made a determined effort to prevent the Parliamentary Special Powers Act from passing. Their leaders have exhausted themselves with constant speeches and appearances, and their newspapers have focused all their attention on the "Parliamentarian Corruption" that the act will supposedly entrench.
Meanwhile, the parties' Dispos and Camelots have made a show of force on the streets, vigorously protesting the government policies, and even Wyldstyle herself, although the longstanding rivalry between the two parties has made these protests rather tense affairs.
With the opposition going nowhere, the pressure is only mounting on Wyldstyle and her allies.

With the pressure to secure a majority for the Parliamentary Special Powers Act having become unsustainable, and needing to outdo the Nationalists' propaganda campaign, Premier Lucy Wyldstyle today met with Watevra Wanabi at the Palace, or at least a temporary situation for a palace until the main planets of Syspocalypstar are Liberated.
Wyldstyle explained the critical nature of the situation to the Queen, whose own political power has been steadily dismantled by the government.
Although Watevra can do little concrete to ensure the bill would pass, a tacit endorsement from her would go a long way to gaining a majority for the bill.
However, the Queen requested concessions from her friend to ensure a possible compromise for future stability: the Bill would be revised to include provisions for executive cooperation with the workings of government, and to allow the executive to call elections to form new governments, should the former be ineffective.
Although not her most viable option, with little choice left, Wyldstyle agreed to her friends' and leaders' request.

Today, after no end of debate and controversy, the Parliamentary Special Powers Act was passed by a very narrow majority in the Assembly led by Wyldstyle. This has come as major news for the Kingdom, and several other galaxies across the universe, making a decisive step in Wyldstyle's government's hold of forming a Democratic leadership for Syspocalypstar
However, the deep divides exposed by the Act will not go away. Opposition to Parliamentary rule has galvanized support for the Nationalist Right, with both the Cross of Fire and Monarchist Action emerging with stronger support, having absorbed the old supporters of the junta. Meanwhile, some of Wyldstyle's coalition was left dissatisfied with the concessions made to Watevra.
However, with the Act passed, Parliamentary rule has been firmly entrenched in the exiled National Syspocalypstar, and it cannot be denied that Wyldstyle's coalition has finally achieved it had wanted to, showing that a return to true Liberal Democracy is closer than ever before.
