Chapter 7: Mythcorp, what Brooklynn knows

"I see..." Roxie was nodding her head as she spoke. Brooklynn had finished explaining what had happened at the raptor pen. Kenji jumping in after her phone, Darius following him, and the raptor attacking both of them. "Is there anything else that happened before me and Dave came?" Roxie asked.

"Yeah... It's crazy though.". Brooklynn pulled out her phone and opened to the video. "When the raptor was about to lunge for Darius something jumped in front of it. When I heard it moving past me it was small probably the size of a dog. But...". She forwarded the video to when I as a tiger landed in the pen. Then she forwarded to when I shifted into my armored form. "That" she pointed at her phone, "shouldn't be possible." Roxie's gaze flickered to me before returning to Brooklynn a thoughtful look in her eyes.

"Either way me and Roxie will talk to the boys and figure out a punishment for this." Dave said using his arms as emphasis. "You two should probably be getting to bed anyway." Both me and Brooklynn nodded in agreement before heading towards the elevator.

"I feel like there's something you're not telling them." She mentioned recognizing the symbol on the truck why wouldn't she tell them? She nodded before typing something on her phone and showing it to me. 'In the room', I nodded as the elevator opened with a ding. Darius and Kenji were sitting on the couches in what seemed to be an uncomfortable silence broken by the occasional pop of Kenji's mouth. Darius looked towards us with a desperate look in his eyes. I just shrugged sadly, not knowing what was going to happen. Kenji just ignored us. 'Sorry' I mouthed towards Darius feeling bad for his situation.

'It's ok' he mouthed back a defeated look settled on his face as he turned back towards Kenji. I let out a sad sigh as I followed Brooklynn into the girls bunks. When I came in she was sitting on my bed with her phone open, looking for something. Her brow was furrowed in concentration the light from her phone illuminated her face.

"So what did you not tell Roxie and Dave?" I asked in a whisper since Yasimina and Sammy were still sound asleep. " You talked about the logo on that person, animal thing is there anything else to it?" I sat down next to her peering over her shoulder. She was looking at news reports related to Mythcorp and their special force. The links were colored purple showing she had looked at them before. There were a few newer articles and even reddit threads about it that she hadn't looked at yet due to their blue hue.

"You mean Mythcorp," she said in a distracted tone opening one of the news articles from a few weeks ago. 'Who is the hidden agent of Mythcorp?' was the heading a bad one at that. I looked at her in fake confusion. "Ever since they emerged a few months ago and started talking to the news I've been doing more research on them. And despite the reports indicating that there are five in total only four are ever there for interviews. The fifth one has only been caught on camera a few times." I nod to her explanation it's true that I have never been interviewed anyway. I was usually called in when they needed me or for covert operations. 'We don't need Mantacorp to know about you yet', was what the scientist and commander would say whenever I asked about it.

"Ok... but what does... Mythcorp have to do with any of this?" My question caused Brooklynn to turn towards me a for open with different photos of suits similar to the one I wore. I could recognize them immediately due to the small variations in the suit. Cooper had some colored highlights and a small horn at his forehead to represent his telekinesis. He was also the only one whose mask didn't cover their entire face. Instead it covered half leaving his mouth and some of his hair exposed. In his photo he was beaming a smile for the reporter ready to speak. Charlie who was a bit shorter than Cooper was next to him. He had a sleeker suit that was more skin tight than the others, he also had find on the end of his heels, elbows, and helmet to signify his speed and agility. I could only barley keep up with him as a cheetah at full speed. He was leaning on Cooper in a cocky manner, proping his elbow on his shoulder. Brooklynn scrolled to another photo showing a figure in mid flight. That was Onyx the only other girl on our team. She had wanted to add either wings or a cape to her armor. She got wings. They were spread out behind her in mid flight making her seem like a bird. Her mask, instead of being smooth and reflective resembled an eagles. How her wings work, I don't know but I think their linked to her mind because she also uses them as weapons. The last clear photo of the group showed Zach in his bulky armor. His mask had a colored slit in it resembling an angy face slightly. His armor was heavier and stored supplies for the team. It was good that he had unnatural strength, I once tried on his armor and I could barley move compared to his agility in it. "Ok... Where's the fifth one I only see four?"

"I have a few blury images and the video but that's it."

"Can I see the photos?" Brooklynn opened another folder and handed me the phone. The photos were very low quality, probably taken by bystanders but I could tell it was me. The tail was barely visible but there along with my ears. I scrolled to another photo, this one if better quality and closer. It was a screenshot from a news headline subbing !e the 'hybrid' due to my ears and tail. My hood was pulled up and covered my reflective mask in shadow. "It does look like the one from the video." I admitted handing her the phone.

"I know, but I can't figure out what they're be doing in Jurassic World of all places and without the other four. Mythcorp doesn't have anything to do with Jurassic World." You'd be surprised. Brooklynn shifted to sit crisscross looking at her phone with confusion and frustration.

"Maybe sleep on it," I suggested with a tired yawn. Brooklynn mimicked my yawn before nodding and getting of my bunk and climbing into her's after plugging her phone in.

"Whatever it is I'm going to get to the bottom of it." Brooklynn sounded determined as she drifted off to sleep. And maybe I can tell you something useful I thought with a small smile before going to sleep.
