Sleep

It has been almost a month since the Hawkmoth battle.

Gabriel Agreste was deemed irredeemable and sent to Belle Reve due to their supposed impenetrable security.

Adrien hadn't visited him once. Couldn't bear to look at him but instead enjoyed having time with his mother. Remaining in Paris proved to be far too stressful for the newly awoken woman so they went to stay with Amelie and Felix in London.

Adrien visited Marinette in the fortress of solitude twice a week, while there, he warmed up to her twin brother quite a lot, eventually scoring himself a date.

Marinette had yet to show signs of waking up, her heartbeat still slow but her wounds were definitely healing quicker than they would have.

Damien kept the miracle box with him while in the fortress.

Jon and Konner made trips back to Metropolis to deal with smaller problems or get food while Clark and Lois barely left their daughter's side besides Clark going back for the occasional sleep in a bed.

Marinette always seemed to instinctively curl into the nearest source of warmth, in the fortress that was always a person. Most of the time it would be Damien, Lois, Kara and sometimes Clark but occasionally there would be a visit from her teammates and they'd take it turns as they knew how she was in her hibernation state.

Both Konner and Jon would sometimes sit on her other side and hold her hand.

She was never left alone that was for sure.

Lois sat with Marinette's head nestled in her neck as she played with her hair.  She softly sang a song they used to have playing around the house a lot when she was young.

"Lois, honey... You need to sleep too. I know you want to stay here in case she wakes up, but you need some sleep in an actual bed." Clark said softly.

"I'm fine Clark." She replied, holding onto Marinette's hand.

"Perry has been blowing up our phones and we both know he likes you more. You need to tell him what's going on at least. Then, you'll go back to our home and sleep in our bed. Please, you need proper sleep. I'll come get you as soon as anything happens. I promise... Bruce can fly you back."

She looked up at him. "Okay... But even if she moves as bit! A tiny bit! You come get me!"

He smiled softly. "Of course."

Bruce had dropped Damien off so was there with the bat-plane to take Lois back.

Lois reluctantly traded places with Damien as she went back with Bruce.

Damien smiled as Marinette snuggled into him, she slept peacefully and her wounds were far better.

"She'll be okay Lois. I promise." Bruce assured. They had Marinette closely monitored so if something was wrong, they would know.

"I'll take your word for it but you should know, if something does go wrong, I know where Clark's parents keep their riffle."

Bruce nodded.

..~~..

Lois was back after another week.

After another day, her heartbeat picked up and her body heat was returning to normal and everyone else had quickly returned to the fortress.

A few hour later, when Marinette finally opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Lois looking down at her with tears of relief in her eyes. "Huh...?" She murmered groggily.
