The wind howled outside the large windows of the House of Wind, creating a haunting melody that seemed to match the tumultuous emotions swirling inside. Nesta stood by the window, her arms crossed tightly over her chest as she gazed out at the night sky.

Cassian approached her cautiously, his footsteps barely making a sound on the polished marble floors. It was a wonder she'd agreed to meet with him here, what once had been their home. He didn't wish to spook her away.

He stopped a few feet away from her, his heart pounding in his chest as he gathered the courage to speak.

"Nesta," he began, his voice low and filled with emotion. "I know I have no right to ask this of you, but...please, let me get to know our child. Let me be a part of his life."

Nesta turned to face him, her expression unreadable. Her eyes bore into his, a mix of anger, hurt, and sadness swirling in their silver depths. She took a deep breath, trying to steady the tempest of emotions raging within her.

"I don't know if I can trust you, Cassian," she whispered, her voice barely above a whisper.

Cassian's heart ached at the pain in her voice. He reached out a hand towards her, but stopped himself before he could touch her.

"I swear to you, Nesta," he said, his voice filled with conviction. "I shall do better by you. By our child. Please, give me a chance to make things right."

Nesta's gaze softened slightly, and she sighed, a sweary look crossing her face. She knew she couldn't keep their child away from him forever, despite the anger and resentment still swirling within her.

She nodded in answer.

Cassian's heart soared at her words, relief flooding through him. He nodded fervently, his eyes shining with gratitude.

And with that, Nesta turned back to the window, the storm still raging outside. But inside the House of WInd, a new chapter was beginning, as Cassian prepared to rejoin his family and be the father he had always longed to be.
