Prologue

It rained heavily on the day of the funeral. Battista was hardly able to hold his umbrella straight. His strength is no longer there. He needed his guard to do it for him.

He was thinking about too many things at the moment. One is how he ought to carry on his father's legacy of inspiring a great number of people. Despite having had extensive training, he needed to prepare.

The funeral was held in private. There are only a few reliable, trustworthy people involved. They don't have any other relatives or family. Merely them. Their accomplices were only told without invitation.

The death of Mr. and Mrs. Arquette is a homicide case. As a result, measures were taken to ensure the safety of the lone heir. That is Battista.

When they returned home, the man needed to be held and escorted. He is no longer alive. He is aware that a large number of people are already plotting his murder. As a result, he was trained by his father's right-hand man, whom his father trusted the most. It was that person's last promise.

Battista picks things up quickly. He swiftly became proficient in a wide range of skills. Maybe it was his desire to track out the people who killed his parents.

Compared to his father, he is a harsher and more rigid leader. He shows no mercy at all. And for that reason, he is more formidable and feared.

His father's right-hand man was not worried about whether Battista would act alone or go out to meet the enemy alone, or only accompanied by a few guards.

He may have known Battista was tough because the man consistently made it home with only minor wounds, which could be one of the reasons. He also brought extremely powerful and skilled guards, which is another factor that is entirely based on Battista's personal background.

Battista became well-known in the mafia world as a result. Everyone is aware of the distinction between his father's leadership and his own. Making everyone hesitant to turn against or undermine him.

Still, he is the target of other mafia groups that wish to destroy him. And Battista greeted each one of them. He didn't feel scared at all.

Despite being the newest mafia boss, he is the most powerful.

Battista had no attraction towards anyone. If he wants to satisfy his lust, he will do it randomly. But never with the same person more than once. He only does it a few times a year.

Others are inquiring as to what he desires. Every mafia has numerous mistresses. Not on Battista, though.

There is just one response. He wants that person. Who he was and why Battista wanted him remained a mystery. Does he intend to murder that person? Or perhaps hire him? or wed him? No one knows.

Battista's upbringing was only known and understood by his father's right-hand man. It was him who spent years working with the Arquette family. The only person who knew Battista's potential was him.

Until he also had to leave Battista.
