Nat's POV:

I was walking in the garden while Net was dragging James upstairs to the room. James's fiancé's house was really huge, very wealthy, with many bodyguards scattered around the mansion. Anyway, I continued walking and taking photos because every part of this mansion is truly Instagrammable. While taking a selfie near the lush plants by the tall wall, I turned around then suddenly screamed at what I saw.

"ahhhhhhh," I screamed loudly and couldn't move from where I stood. My whole body was trembling, and even though I wanted to run, for some unexplainable reason, I couldn't move.

Suddenly, I felt someone grab me and saw him throw a sharp knife at the huge snake hanging from the lush plants crawling on the wall.

Due to my weakened body, I saw the man who killed and saved me from the danger of that snake approaching me. I stepped back and suddenly stumbled, and he ran towards me. Because I was off-balance, I grabbed his clothes, and we both fell to the ground. I closed my eyes as the fall was painful, and he was on top of me. I opened my eyes when someone shouted, it was James who saw us in that position.

"OMG," he shouted.

I pushed the man away and managed to stand up even though I was still weak. James approached us and asked why his cousin was on top of me. I was surprised when I heard him say the word "cousin," and I looked at the two of them, so this man is his cousin? I asked myself.

"Max, what's happening? Why are you on top of my friend?" James asked.

"Bring him inside first, and I'll explain later in the evening. I'll take care of this for now," Max said as he pulled out the sharp knife from the head of the lifeless snake and dragged it to clean up and dispose of it.

As we entered the mansion, I saw Net coming down in the elevator (the elevator wall was glass, so you could see if someone was inside or not). He approached us and asked what happened to me, and I was pale.

Before I could answer, Max spoke, and I didn't even realize he had entered. "I saw him taking a selfie near the lush plants in the wall. I saw a snake suddenly emerge from the plants, and when he turned, he saw it and screamed. I approached and suspected something was wrong there,k so I stabbed the snake. He couldn't move earlier out of fear of seeing it." he explained.

"Sorry, Nat," James apologized to me.

"That's not your fault, why are you apologizing?" I said.

"If I had accompanied you, that wouldn't have happened to you," he said, frowning.

"Are you crazy? Why do you think that the snake will not show up when you were with this kid? James, are you Medusa to command the snakes not to harm the specific person?" he said with a smile.

James slapped his cousin on the shoulder and said, "Are you crazy?" then Max just laughed.

James looked at Net and pointed at him, "This is your fault; if you hadn't dragged me earlier, I would have been with Nat, and this wouldn't have happened. Look, my friend is pale and trembling with fear."

Net just smiled and said, "Love, he's okay now, don't worry. Let's just be thankful that Max was there and saved him."

"What were you doing earlier, that leaving your guest alone?" Max asked.

James couldn't answer, so Net spoke, "We were just exercising..." Net was interrupted by James hitting him on the shoulder and telling him to shut up.

James invited me to the room to rest, and I followed. We were in the guest room, and James kept apologizing, but I just told him it was okay and not to worry.

Since it's Christmas today, we celebrated together in that mansion, and we were happy. However, the couple seemed not okay because James blamed Net for what happened to me earlier. I couldn't help but to look at Max, so I kept glancing at him and looking away when caught staring.

Around 3 in the morning after our celebration, I was surprised to find James following me to my room with a pillow and blanket.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked him.

"I'm going to sleep here," he said, entering the room and locking the door.

"Maybe your fiancé is looking for you? Are you still not okay?" I asked.

"Let him be; he's grown up and can handle his own life," he said, lying down and covering himself with the blanket.

I was just resting when someone knocked on the door. "I knew it," I said, taking a deep breath and removing the blanket covering James.

"James, your fiancé is outside knocking," I said.

"Let him be, let's just sleep," he replied.

But Net didn't stop knocking and calling James' name. So I got up and opened the door.

"Sorry to disturb, Nat. Please tell James to come back to our room," he said to me.

"Well, he's already asleep," I lied.

He entered and approached the bed, and my eyes widened when I saw Net carry James like a child. I laughed as James struggled and wanted to put him down, but he couldn't resist Net. Before they left my room, Net apologized to me again, and I just nodded as he carried James away.

In the morning, after having breakfast, we started packing our things to go back to Bangkok. After I finished packing, I went to the garden to look for Max to personally thank him for keeping me safe yesterday. When we met, I thanked him and shook his hand. Shortly after, he joined us in going to James' house, and we said our goodbyes as we were heading back to Bangkok to his family.Max also drove us to the airport, and I noticed throughout the journey how he would glance at me and look away whenever I caught him looking. I just smiled and bid him farewell again as I entered the airport.

On the plane, Net and James sat beside me, and I couldn't help but laugh when Net teased James.James felt embarrassed by what Net did to him when he carried him to their room.

After a few minutes of the plane landing, I decided to take a taxi and politely declined to drop them off, feeling a bit shy about it. While in the taxi, I received a text message from an unknown number. I opened it out of curiosity.

"hi"

"hello, who is this?" I replied.

After a few minutes, the immediate response came, saying, "I'm Max, James' cousin. Sorry for not asking your permission before I asked James your number."

I gasped loudly, causing the taxi driver to stop abruptly and ask, "Sir, is there a problem?"

"Sorry, no, there's no problem. Please continue driving," I said, and he resumed driving until I reached home, still unable to wipe the smile off my face. My parents welcomed me and I apologized, hugging them and they telling me not to do it again. They then sent me to my room to rest. After changing, I lay down and couldn't stop smiling, thinking, "He's so hot," as I looked at his picture uploaded on social media.
