Overview (Brief)
Union Academy is a school that was made by the combined efforts of multiple universes. They built it in what they call a 'Base' or 'Clean' universe, a type of universe that seemingly has nothing special about it. This school acts as a center hub of sorts, to connect to each of the other universes, with each portal leading to a key area in a different universe. This key area is where the portal first opened during the time Atlas was first exploring. For this universe, it was built near a town called Kuoh.
This school was built with the goal of unifying the multiverse and to bring everyone together. It combines the teaching methods of each universe and brings them together in separate divisions. Each division teaching a specific subject, i.e. Heroes, Shinobi and so on.
Students can still go on missions, either assigned by the school itself or those in the other multiverses, similar to how Guilds from Earth-Land get missions. These missions encourage students to travel to other universes and see how each universe is different. It also teaches them to be flexible enough to adapt to new worlds and cultures. It also teaches them responsibility, like handling money and completing important tasks.
History (Brief)
Over the course of a few years, Atlas have been messing with portal technology. With constant failures, Ironwoods frustration grew more and more. However, one day, a freak accident lead to a portal actually opening. This led them to discover what they will later call the 'Base' or 'Clean' universe. This led them to realize that other universes do exist, and each one is similar but vastly different from their own. Ironwood debated on keeping this to himself and Atlas, to use as a weapon of some sort or as a way to somehow get rid of the Grimm but after seeing the lives of those who live in these different universes go on, some with their own struggles, he decided against it.
Not long after this, he brought this up with Ozpin. Ozpin question his motivations, but decided to take him at his word. The 2 worked together to stabilize these portals and make contact with the leaders, well the leaders closes to the portals that is, and form an alliance with them. This later resulted on all the leaders banning together to build one large school to stand as a symbol of their Union.
Security System (brief)
Union academy boasts a security system that's even higher than the toughest fortress. In the front gates, a super sensitive sensors are built into it. If someone even tries to get close to it without the authorization needed, gates will instantly rise from the ground.
The entire school is surrounded but thick and high concrete walls. At key points are relays that will activate a dome shaped force field, when needed.
Under extreme threat, the walls are lined with hidden machine gun laser turrets. These turrets have special ammunition that can harm even someone with Ki.
The school is also lined with sensors to detect Ki signatures from far away, it can even reach the Earths atmosphere.
Notable technology (brief)
* Energy Suppression Cuffs: is used by teachers and staff to lower their energy leaves to match their students.
* Prison Grade Energy Suppression Cuffs: these are upgraded versions that cut off their energy entirely.
* Portals: originally created by Ironwood. They allow them to travel to other worlds, but must have anchor points at each end.
