Chapter Ten (The Need for More Evidence)

Ethan's eyes were grave as he turned to Alex, his voice laced with concern. "Alex, we've made great progress, but the evidence we've found so far isn't enough to bring Julian to justice. We need something concrete, something that will stand up in court."

Alex's brow furrowed, her mind racing with the implications. "What do you mean? I thought we had enough to take him down."

Ethan shook his head, his hair rustling in the silence. "We have enough to raise suspicions, but we need hard proof. And right now, we just don't have that."

Alex's determination ignited, her eyes blazing with a fierce light. "Then we need to get more evidence. I'll go back to Nova Branding, confront Julian again, and get what we need."

Ethan's face paled, his eyes wide with worry. "Alex, no. It's too dangerous. We can't risk losing you too. We need to come up with a different plan."

Alex's jaw set, her resolve unwavering. "There is no other plan, Ethan. I'm the only one who can get close to Julian. And I'm the only one who can get the evidence we need."

Ethan's eyes searched hers, his gaze piercing. "Are you sure, Alex? Are you absolutely sure you're ready for this?"

Alex's nod was resolute, her voice firm. "I was born ready, Ethan. Let's do this."

Ethan's face was etched with concern, his voice laced with doubt. "Alright, Alex. But we need to be smart about this. We need a solid plan, and we need backup. I'll reach out to some contacts, see if we can get some extra eyes on the ground."

Alex's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with the details. "I'll go in undercover, get close to Julian, and gather what we need. And if things go south, I'll have a plan in place to get out quickly."

Ethan's eyes were still worried, but he nodded, his face set in a determined mask. "Alright, Alex. Let's do this. But promise me one thing."

Alex's eyes locked onto his, her heart pounding in her chest. "What's that?"

Ethan's voice was low, his words laced with urgency. "Promise me you'll be careful, Alex. Promise me you'll come back to me alive."

Alex's smile was soft, her voice barely above a whisper. "I promise, Ethan. I'll come back to you, and I'll bring the evidence we need to bring Julian to justice."

With a deep breath, Alex walked into the Nova Branding building, her heart racing with anticipation. She knew the risks, but she was ready. She made her way to Julian's office, her eyes scanning the area for any signs of danger.

As she entered the office, Julian looked up, a sly smile spreading across his face. "Well, well, well. Look what we have here. The little whistleblower, back for more."

Alex's eyes locked onto his, her voice firm. "I'm not afraid of you, Julian. And I'm not going to back down."

Julian's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, I think you will. You see, I have something you want. Something that will keep you quiet forever."

Alex's heart raced, her mind racing with possibilities. "What are you talking about?"

Julian leaned forward, his voice dropping to a whisper. "I'm talking about evidence, Alex. Evidence that will put you away for a long time. And I'm willing to share it with you... for a price."

Alex's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with options. She knew she had to act fast, to get the evidence before Julian could use it against her. With a swift motion, she reached into her bag and pulled out a small recorder, her voice firm. "I'm not afraid of you, Julian. And I'm not going to let you win."

With a click, the recorder began to capture every word, every incriminating phrase. Alex's heart raced, her eyes locked onto Julian's, as she knew she had finally gotten the evidence they needed to bring him down.
