Happiness and Betrayal

My heart pounded through my chest. I was not sure if I was awake or dreaming. This is unbelievable. This can not possibly be true. He just hung up on me ten minutes ago. And now I get a call back from him telling me that he like me? I have to be dreaming.

" Are you serious?" I asked shocked out of my mind.

" I'm as serious as I could be. I really like you Nicole."

No, no, no he didn't just say that. What kind of dream am I having? I thought.

I slapped myself to see if I was dreaming, not realizing the amount of force I put into it. "Ouch!"

"Are you okay?" Tyler asked.

" Yes I'm okay." I said, rubbing my throbbing cheek.

" Good. So what you think, do you like me too?"

" Yes, of course." I bursted out. I have been waiting for a long time for this moment and now that I know that is real and that I'm not dreaming , I can not do nothing but smile; although my throbbing cheek was preventing it.

" That's wonderful," he cheered. " We both feel the same way. So that only means one thing."

" What is it?"

" We have to go on a date. I want to take you somewhere nice. And I think I know the perfect place. So what you say? Would you go on a date with me?"

I never thought I would hear those words come out his mouth. I slowly pulled the phone away from my ear. As the phone was in my hand, I got up from my bed and quietly dance around my room in excitement. It was little weird for me to be doing this in the dark, but I did not care, I couldn't help it.

After I finished, I placed the phone to the side of my face. " Yes I will go on the date with you, just as long as our first date do not be at a party." I joked but serious as well.

He laughed." Oh trust me, there won't be no party."

I smiled. " Great. And speaking of parties, I'm surprise your not at the party that was going on tonight. "

"Yeah, I was not in the mood. I was thinking about you too much."

I blushed. " I hoped that was not a bad thing."

" Of course not. Besides, I went to too many parties anyway. I need a break."

I laughed." Yeah, I bet you do. And I know Kiara having a good time. She went to the party."

" Yeah I know. I think her and my bro Kevin going be to hitting it off."

Kevin? No he can not be possibly talking about my ex boyfriend with Kiara. No that just can not be. She would not do that. Would she?

"What you mean by them hitting it off?" I asked, hoping he didn't mean what I think he meant.

"Well let's just say they might be the new couples."

" Which Kevin you talking about? My ex?

" Yeah him. "

The happiness that was inside me immediately turned into anger. Best friends don't dated each other ex's. Especially the ones that hurt them the most. I really liked Kevin. I loved him. He was the first guy I dated and also the first to break my heart.

I meet Kevin when I was in the ninth grade. We both had classes together. He was always the class clown. Making jokes that I could not help but laugh to. None of his jokes were never mean ones, which was what I liked about him. He was also cute and smart. He's grades was always the best in the class. Well..... second best.
Anyway, one day he approached me and asked to take me out to the skating ring. Of course I said yes and that following weekend we went out. To me, that was the best date ever. There were barely anyone there which made it better. It was like we had the skating ring to our selves. I truly never laughed so hard as I did that night. Not only did I keep falling every minute but Kevin did the same thing! We were both terrible skaters, but in our minds we did not care.

After that night, we became a couple. We've dated for about four months, until I caught him kissing another girl. The sight was horrible. I thought I was going to throw up. I literally cried my eyes out that day, and Kiara was right there by me. I'm so thankful for having a friend like Kiara, unfortunately, I do not know how long she will be my friend.

"Nicole are you still there?" asked Tyler.

" Oh, yes I'm still here." I said. I almost forgot I was on the phone with Tyler. I was too caught up in my thoughts.

"Cool, well Nicole I'm glad we've talked, I will be planning our wonderful date we're going to be having soon, and I can not wait to see you in school. "

I smiled. " Yeah same here. Goodnight Tyler."

"Good night Nicole. "

"Click" the call ended.

I sighed. I'm so glad things went well between Tyler and I, but I can not say the same for Kiara and I. Once I see Kiara again, I'm gonna have a few words for her. Possibly more.
