Family Meeting

The next day Hyunjin woke up alone and went out to the living room to let Felix know he was leaving to get ready in his dorm. Once outside he saw Lee Know cooking breakfast alone and greeted him. He grabbed a cup of coffee while asking Lee Know if Felix was awake yet.
"Wasn't he in the room with you? ", Lee Know asked surprisingly. Felix wasn't an early riser.
Just then, they noticed Felix coming out of Seungmin's room, his hair disheveled and eyes tired as if he hadn't slept. Felix halted once he took sight of Hyunjin in the kitchen and murmured a good morning before going inside the bathroom.
Something felt off to Hyunjin and Lee know's questioning gaze wasn't helping either. Hyunjin waited for Felix but he just went back to his room and did not come out even when Hyunjin knocked and told him that he needed to leave.
In the practice room too, Felix was distant. He seemed to be normal to everyone, as normal as he could pretend, but he still avoided Hyunjin.
Hyunjin was getting restless and tried to corner Felix multiple times but it was of no use.

A week passed and Felix hadn't spoken a word to Hyunjin unless he was directly spoken to. He never came to cuddle like he used to. During the interview too, Hyunjin kept trying to get Felix's attention but Felix deliberately focused on Changbin and Jisung to avoid Hyunjin. Hyunjin couldn't help but think about what he did wrong to make Felix act this way. Felix was the sunshine, he never held grudges and hated when someone got isolated. Then why was he avoiding Hyunjin when Hyunjin didn't do anything wrong? Hyunjin spent all his free time thinking about the possible answer.

It was getting out of hand now. The members have all felt the tension and Felix's strange behavior but now they decided to intervene. All the members gathered in the Maknae+Lee know dorm and made Hyunjin and Felix talk to each other. The only problem was that none of them were speaking.

The silence was awkward as the members waited for someone to speak. Members like Jeongin and Han didn't have any clue about this sudden meeting, they looked at Chan, thinking he wanted to discuss something. Chan was looking at Lee know who was looking at Felix and Hyunjin. Felix was looking in his lap, fidgeting with his sweater paws. Hyunjin tried to look at Felix from the corner of his eyes but then settled on admiring the wall. Changbin was silently observing everyone and finally cleared his throat.

"Is anyone gonna say what this is about?? Chan-hyung?"

Chan sighed, these kids will surely give him grey hair before he gets old. Rubbing his forehead he ones again looked at Lee Know and asked Felix, "You tell me Felix what's going on? Is something bothering you or are you unwell??"
His kind, understanding voice is enough to melt all fears and soothe you. But Felix felt a knot of fear in his stomach. He felt horrible for dragging everyone into his mess. He hated lying and avoided looking into anyone's eyes as he answered. " I'm just a bit tired. With our upcoming comeback and hectic schedule, I just wanna take a break."

"Then Hyunjin why do you like like Felix has just kicked you puppy??" Lee know asked Hyunjin.
Felix dared to look at Hyunjin who looked at him for a second before looking away. But Felix saw it in his eyes. Hyunjin was hurt and it was Felix's fault. He had hurt his best friend and now he is making other members worried.

Hyunjin took a deep breath before looking at Soonie's dad. " I'm also a bit tired hyung. The comeback is close and the preparation has been stressful. I just need to spend some time alone to recharge myself."

Changbin as always was just listening to all of them. He preferred to listen than talk and that's how he had helped the members solve their issues in the past because he knew sometimes people just need someone who can listen to them.
He looked at both of them and spoke calmly, "We understand that you both are tired. We all feel the same way. But none of us are avoiding each other. We know both of you lix, Hyunjinnie. You might have had some disagreements in the past but it never stayed for this long. All of us can feel this tension when you both are in the same room. Please talk this out with each other. And be honest."

Hyunjin felt bad for lying. He didn't want to be lying to his friends in the first place so having to lie while being so pressured to tell the truth was killing him. Even so, he couldn't bring himself to tell the truth even if he wanted to. His friend was avoiding him for no apparent reason at all and it was breaking his heart. He sighed again and said, "I don't know. I feel like he's avoiding me but I have no idea why. If I knew, I would be able to fix it."

Hyunjin sounded so tired and hurt that Felix flinched and looked at him horrified but Hyunjin had his head in his hands with Changbin rubbing circles on his back to comfort him. "Hyunnie, I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you. I just had a lot on my mind."
Felix's heart started to beat fast as he saw the shocked expression on his best friend's face. Seeing him upset made him feel guilty and bad, he didn't want to hurt his friend at all, especially not because of his feelings. He looked down again, knowing what he had to say would be another lie but it was the less painful option, wasn't it? He let out another sigh and said, "Yeah... it's nothing... I just had a lot on my mind... really"
Other members were just spectators in the first row of this drama unfolding in their dorm. They wanted to help their friends but knew it was better to let them talk to each other. Seungmin was observing the situation, and his mind slowly started connecting the dots. Felix had come to his room the day Hyunjin stayed over and after that, he had been avoiding Hyunjin. Hyunjin seemed confused so he didn't have any idea what happened. That means something is bothering Felix and it's related to Hyunjin.
