It was a typical morning in the sleek, glass-walled cabin of Tara Agarwal, CEO of Agarwal Industries. Tara sat behind her mahogany desk, her expression as focused and serious as ever. Agastya, with his usual bubbly demeanor, sat opposite her, an array of papers spread out between them as they reviewed the guest list for Yuvaan and Sara's upcoming wedding.
"Tara, yeh list toh endless hai. Tumhare contacts aur family friends kabhi khatam nahi hote kya?" Agastya teased, leaning back in his chair with a grin.
Tara glanced up, her icy demeanor unwavering. "Weddings are a big deal, Agastya. We can't afford to miss anyone important."
Agastya rolled his eyes playfully. "Haan haan, madam. Waise, maine kabhi socha nahi tha ke tum itni serious cheezon mein itna involve hoti ho."
"Agastya, agar tum thoda serious hote, toh tumhe pata hota ki yeh kitna zaroori hai," Tara retorted, though there was a hint of amusement in her eyes.
As they continued to work, Tara suddenly realized her water bottle was empty. She glanced over at the table near the door where a fresh bottle was kept. Standing up, she walked over, her heels clicking against the marble floor. Just as she reached for the bottle, her heel slipped on the smooth surface. Before she could react, she felt herself falling.
In an instant, Agastya was there, his arms wrapping around her waist to catch her just in time. Tara found herself pressed against him, her heart pounding from the sudden scare. Their eyes locked, and for a moment, the world outside ceased to exist.
"Tum thik ho, Tara?" Agastya's voice was soft, filled with genuine concern.
Tara, still catching her breath, nodded slightly. "Haan, bas... thoda slip ho gaya."
Their faces were inches apart, and the intensity of the moment was palpable. Neither of them moved, caught in each other's gaze, the air thick with unspoken emotions.
Just then, the door swung open, and Priya walked in briskly. "Ma'am, yeh--" She stopped dead in her tracks, taking in the scene before her. Tara in Agastya's arms, both looking startled and lost in each other's eyes.
"Sorry to disturb you," Priya said, a mischievous glint in her eyes, as she backed out of the room, leaving the door slightly ajar.
Tara quickly straightened, stepping out of Agastya's arms. She cleared her throat, trying to regain her composure. "Thanks," she muttered, avoiding his gaze as she went back to her seat.
Agastya, too, was trying to act normal, but the blush on his cheeks betrayed him. "Anytime, boss," he said lightly, attempting to diffuse the tension.
Later that day, during lunch in the company cafeteria, Raj joined Agastya at their usual table. "Bhai, suna hai aaj kuch romantic scene tha tumhare aur Tara ke beech," Raj teased, nudging Agastya playfully.
Agastya blushed, looking around to ensure no one else was listening. "Shut up, Raj. Kuch nahi tha waisa."
Raj grinned. "Acha? Toh fir itna blush kyu kar rahe ho? Priya ne toh sab bata diya."
Agastya groaned, covering his face with his hands. "Priya ki wajah se, sabko pata chal jayega ab."
Meanwhile, back in Tara's cabin, Priya had returned, a knowing smile on her face. "Ma'am, woh guest list ka kaam ho gaya. Aur waise, morning mein jo hua, uske baare mein baat karein?"
Tara looked up from her laptop, her cheeks tinged with a faint blush. "Priya, I don't think it's necessary to discuss that."
Priya leaned closer, a playful twinkle in her eye. "I think you were having a moment, ma'am."
Tara shot her a stern look, though the blush deepened. "Shut up, Priya."
Priya chuckled. "Arre, relax. I think it's cute. Waise, Agastya bhi blush kar raha tha jab maine usse dekha."
Tara sighed, trying to hide her smile. "Let's just focus on the work, okay?"
As the day continued, the incident remained at the back of Tara's and Agastya's minds, both trying to navigate their feelings amidst their professional roles. Tara, always the epitome of composure, found herself slightly distracted, thinking about the warmth of Agastya's arms and the way his eyes had looked into hers.
Agastya, on the other hand, couldn't help but replay the moment in his head, feeling a mix of embarrassment and a strange new emotion he couldn't quite place.
As the evening approached, they both knew that whatever had happened in that brief moment was significant, even if they weren't ready to admit it yet. For now, they would continue their dance of playful banter and professional boundaries, each wondering what the future might hold.
The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the city as Tara returned home, feeling a mix of exhaustion and confusion. She had just stepped into the lavish living room of her family mansion when she heard Yuvaan's voice calling her from the kitchen.
"Hey, Tara! How was work?" Yuvaan asked, his tone light and curious as he poured himself a glass of water.
Tara hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to broach the subject that had been on her mind all day. She walked over to the kitchen island and sat down on one of the high stools, her fingers absentmindedly tracing patterns on the marble surface.
"Work was... interesting," she finally said, her voice carefully neutral.
Yuvaan raised an eyebrow, sensing something unusual in her tone. "Interesting? That's not a word you use often. What's up?"
Tara sighed, deciding to just come out with it. "I had a bit of an... incident with Agastya today."
Yuvaan's interest was immediately piqued. "Oh? What kind of incident?"
