Chapter 4

After wandering into the house, Callie is astonished at what she sees. A clean, crisp, living room. No stains anywhere. A clean kitchen and dining room. No blemishes or unwanted marks..anywhere! Callie, as a mom with three children, was impressed by the sight she saw. Oliver walked in with a suit and tie, straightening the tie.

"Hi, Callie!" His deep voice struck her like lightning. It was way different from the phone call she received previously.

"Hi!" Callie smiled. She looked around once more at the living space. "You got a nice place here."

"Thanks. I clean up often. Can't say I get too many visitors though." He pauses, checking her out. "Come in, come in, dinner is just about ready!"

"Oh goodie!" Callie excitedly says. Callie walks over to the dining table, settling herself into the chair, and putting her purse on the chair frame. She waits.

"Tonight's dinner is steak, with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I usually only cook for myself, but hey, a visitor means a good meal must be served."

"That's not always true." Callie puts her elbows on the table. She takes her elbows off as food is set in front of her.

"Bon appétit!" Oliver sits down across from her, grabbing his food and tucking in.

As they both begin to eat, Oliver strikes up a question.

"So, about that Cameron guy, is he still the same guy?"

"I suppose he is in a way. Ever since we had kids-"

"You have kids? Wow, you don't look like you've had any!"

Callie blushes. "You are so kind. Anyway, since we've had kids, we have really solidified our structure and nailed down on being good, healthy parents."

"Give me an example."

"Like, sometimes saying no is healthy. Sometimes it's ok that we get what we want though."

"Sounds like you're an excellent parent. What are your kids' names?"

"Jacob, Dave, and Fiona."

"Beautiful names." Oliver looks up at her, noticing she has some steak juice on her face. "Oh, here's a napkin."

"Thanks, sorry, this is just splendid!" Callie grabs the napkin and wipes her face.

"That's a nice compliment for me. My visitors don't usually say my food is good."

"And who are these visitors exactly? Do they have taste buds?"

Oliver rubs the back of his head while blushing. "Well, I'd like to think so."

After finishing up dinner and some deep conversations about the kids, Callie grabs her purse.

"It's been wonderful talking to you, Oliver."

"Same here."

As Callie is about to leave, she stops in her tracks and looks into Oliver's eyes.

"I really enjoyed dinner."

"So did I."

Callie just smiles, and Oliver comes closer to her. "Callie...I know you are married but...I really want to give you a kiss."

"I suppose one couldn't hurt."

Callie looks up at him and he looks down at her. They both close their eyes and come close, their noses brushing against one another. They then kiss, Callie pulling back slowly. Her eyes remain closed. "God damn...you're a good kisser." She chuckles as she opens her eyes. Oliver just smirks. "You are too." Callie pats his head, walking away. "I'll see you later?"
