Will you still love me tomorrow?

Chapter 2 - Sickness

Ever since the night of talking about their little angel 1031, Hyun Woo & Hae In felt less burdened and were generally happy. They knew at that time that their love for each other is much stronger than any challenges that they will face, ever.

They laughed, cried, argued, made up and kissed, their passionate love never wavering. The strong willed Hae In has become more clingy towards Hyun Woo, relishing their intimate moments together. Secretary Na had many moments of excusing herself from being a third-wheeler with "these touchy clingy teenagers". Hyun Woo is getting used to being more than just a co-worker at work as he also has to entertain the antics of his boss-wife too. When Hae In is upset or angry that things are not going her way, he knows the way to her heart to soothe her.

Hyun Woo looked at Hae In with concern. "Hae In ah, what are you having for lunch? Shall I go get a take out for you?" he asked as he waited for his team to gather towards the elevator. Hae In replied with a small smile on her lips. "I'm not very hungry. But thank you for asking. I'll just have a light salad or something." Hyun Woo furrowed his brow slightly, noticing that Hae In had been eating less lately. "Are you feeling alright, HaeIn ah? I've noticed you haven't been eating much lately. Is everything okay? Is work stressing you out with the new store opening?". "Don't worry, yeobo. I'm fine, really. The new store opening has been keeping me busy, but nothing I can't handle. I've just been a little tired, that's all."Hyun Woo nodded, still looking a bit unconvinced. "Okay, but if you need anything, anything at all, you let me know, alright? I'm here for you, always."Hae In smiled and stood on her tiptoes to place a gentle kiss on Hyun Woo's lips. "I know, yeobo. I know.". Hyun Woo loves when she calls him that. It melts him instantly.

That evening Hae In head home first as Hyun Woo had a case to solve with his team. When Hyun Woo got home at 11pm, he found his wife deeply asleep in her work clothes. Its quite an unusual sight as Hae In is a clean freak and would always change out before she lay in bed. She didnt wait up for him as usual too. "Why is she so exhausted? Did she not eat dinner? She is still in her branded outfit too. What is happening?"

"Yeobo... " Hyun Woo gently caress her cheek in an attempt to wake her up. She stirred and looked at him. "Hyun Woo, I thought you were coming home late? Did you finished the case early?". She sat up, rubbing her eyes to look at him. Hyun Woo leans in and place a soft kiss on her forehead, "It's 11pm, Hae In ah.. and you are still wearing your work outfit. You must be so exhausted because it is unlike you to lie in bed without your pyjamas. Are you alright? Did you eat dinner?".

"11pm?!Gosh! I must have fallen asleep while they prepared dinner then.." Hae In explained. Hyun Woo could hear her stomach grumbled, "I''ll get some sandwich for you downstairs while you wash up, ok?". Hae In reluctantly agreed and head on to the showers while he got her sandwich from the kitchen. Hyun Woo was really concerned as Hae In truly didnt look like herself.

Hyun Woo was already in the room with the sandwich and a cup of warm milk by the time she stepped out of the showers. "Yeobo, I have a headache, can I lie down for abit? I'll have a bite when I wake up later. I'll take a sip of the milk because my dear husband is so thoughtful...".. She took a few sips of the warm milk and head to bed. She was out like a light. Hyun Woo sat beside Hae In & couldnt help to think if her tumour has made a comeback again. All the episodes of headache, many days of poor appetite & the drowsiness worries him. Hyun Woo prayed it was just fatigue from work.

The Hong Hae In, he knew is never once bothered or stressed from work because she is the Queen who gets things done efficiently and maintained her composure even if work kept her late into the night. Hyun Woo is always impressed with her energy and how she keeps everything in place at work. He decided to just let her rest, hoping that she will feel better tomorrow. Perhaps, Hyun Woo can convince her to make a visit to the doctor soon.

As Hyun Woo drifts off to sleep, snuggling close to his Hae In, he silently prays that nothing bad is happening to her . The thought of losing her again fills him with dread, as he couldnt bear that kind of torment the second time.

"God, please let me live with her for a long long time. Let me hold her and care for her just like I promised her in our wedding vow...."

Author's note

I always see Hae In as someone so strong & incapable of falling sick until that damn tumour. But to be loved by Hyun Woo (not during the initial eps though) is a battle half won. He makes everything better for her. Urgh, these 2! I really wished we see more of their love story than the makjang we got. 😆😆😆. Thank you for reading, whoever you are.
