"Their rooms are empty, and they left the group chat," Ashido complained while looking at Bakugo and Midoriya's empty seats. "Why are they always so dramatic?" Theyd wished someone would just answer them and let them know they were okay.
"I'm sure they'll be here," Tsu said while pulling her supplies out for the rest of the day. "They wouldn't leave UA, ribbit."
Ashido sighed. "If they did, what happened between them all to make them leave? Bakugo and Midoriya love it here and have worked incredibly hard. They wouldn't just leave."
Before Tsu could respond, Aizawa walked in, and the class went silent. "Iida, Uraraka, please switch seats with Tanaka and Akio. Hagakure, move back two seats." As they moved, they shared questioning glances with each other. Doing that, Tanaka and Akio were put in the back corner of the room, and the two empty desks for the boys were left in the opposite corner in the front.
"Next, with the class growing, we will split into two groups. The groups will not change throughout the year. The group you are assigned is the group you will stay with." He stopped talking as Bakugo and Midoriya walked into the room. "You both moved up a seat." When they had taken their seats, Aizawa continued. "Group A will be Bakugo, Midoriya, Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki, Kirishima, Kaminari, Tsu, Jiro, Sero, and Ashido. That means the rest of you will be in group B."
Everyone wanted to ask why the class was being divided and what was happening, but they could feel the tension in the room, and none of them were brave enough to try to break it.
"Group A, head to the locker room and then meet All Might on the training grounds. Group B, you'll be here studying. In an hour and ten minutes, the groups will switch." Everyone from group A shared confused glances as they stood up and gathered their things. Aizawa followed them into the hallway, telling Bakugo and Midoriya to stay back momentarily.
When their half of the class was far enough away, Aizawa led them to a conference room where they wouldnt be heard by anyone else. "What am I going to do with you two?" he asked. "I can't catch a break."
"Yeah, us either," Bakugo barked back. The situation may not be fun for their teachers, but it wasn't any better for them. "What did our moms tell you?"
"A lot," he admitted, trying to keep the surprise and sadness off his face. When he looked at Bakugo, he tried to keep the image of him attempting to take his own life out of his head. But now that the seed has been planted, he can't pull the roots out. "We can't expel them without evidence. We're working on getting them gone, but it's getting harder and harder to track down the people who can help us."
"That's not surprising," Midoriya said. "She probably told them something to make them disappear."
"Until then, you have heightened security measures," he said, pulling two watches from his pocket and handing each of them one. "Wear these at all times."
"Why?" Bakugo asked, grabbing both of them and handing one to his boyfriend.
"If you press the red panic button on the side twice, it'll send your location to me, All Might, and Nezu. It's for emergencies only," he explained. "Leaving the campus also requires more now. Anyone except you two will have to have three signatures. One from myself, one from Nezu, and another from a parent. They can't just walk off campus. And no matter what, neither of them will be allowed off campus until an hour after school has ended to ensure you both make it back safely."
"This is fucking stupid," Bakugo complained as he set his bag on the floor and helped Midoriya with his watch.
"It's either this or you guys leave UA," Aizawa countered. "This is the only thing we could come up with that convinced your parents to leave you here. Tell me more about their quirks."
"Akio's quirk is practically identical to Monoma," Midoriya said. "Tanaka can hack into and alter anything stored on an electronic device. Computers, phones, gaming consoles, TVs, things like that. She can access deleted files. Hacking into something only takes her seconds, but it takes a little more time and energy to alter something. That's where Akio usually comes in. He would copy her quirk and help her."
Aizawa listened intently. "Is there any way to protect electronics from her?"
Midoriya shook his head. "Once she touches them, it's game over. You can stop it by dumping water over it or smashing the motherboard, but that's it. Usually, everything will be done and over with, and you'll never even know she touched it to begin with."
"She's the dangerous one," Bakugo said. "Without her, Akio would be nothing. Although, if he goes anywhere near Deku, I will kill him."
"We're going to do everything we can to keep them away from you both." Aizawa wanted to ask about Akio, but Midoriya looked like he was going to be sick, and he knew it wasn't the right time. "Is there anything else you want to tell me about them that your parents don't know?"
"About them? No," Bakugo said as his cheeks and the tips of his ears turned a light shade of pink.
Aizawa raised a brow. "Anything in general?" he asked.
Midoriya looked at Bakugo and then back at his teacher. His boyfriend was too nervous to say anything, so he said, "Kacchan and I are dating." Aizawa's stoic expression finally broke. "We aren't announcing it, but because of everything going on, we figured you should know."
"Who else knows?" Aizawa glanced between them, trying to determine if they were telling the truth. He knew they had no reason to lie, but it was hard to believe.
"Kirishima, Todoroki, Uraraka, and Iida," Midoriya said. "We haven't even told our parents."
"The less people you tell, the better. If she's done even half of the things your parents have told us about, that's something you definitely don't want that getting out." They both nodded in agreement. "There's nothing of valuable information on those watches, but if she comes near you and is able to get her hands on them, tell us so we can replace them."
"We'll try to keep them tucked under our sleeves," Bakugo said. "She can still hack into them, but it will take her longer, and we'll be able to notice."
"She's more likely to get her hand on our phones. Those have more valuable information anyway," Midoriya mumbled.
"Keep your phones on you at all times. The only time they leave your possession is if they're in mine, All Might's, or Nezu's. Even then, that will only be when you're on the battlefield, and all eyes are on you."
"Okay," Bakugo said.
"You two, go ahead and get to the locker room and change. We'll talk more later." Aizawa opened the conference room door and let them walk down the hall, where Nezu was waiting to escort them.
"I hate this," Midoriya whispered to his boyfriend.
"Me too," Bakugo said.
They felt vulnerable, which is something they never wanted to feel again. They were safe and protected, but that didn't matter. They felt like a burden, and they knew there was a possibility that the new security measures wouldn't even work. Bakugo and Midoriya were helpless. It felt like they were walking the plank, ready to jump into the ocean with a cannonball strapped to their ankles. They knew what awaited them, but there was no way to avoid or escape it.
