Auriane De Verley POV
I woke up, not sensing anything, questioning if it was all a dream.
"My lady, you're awake, your bath is ready," the maid said as I sat up in bed."My lady, Grand Duke Luk Van De Ross will be waiting for you in the dining room," the maid informed me as I gazed at the mirror and nodded.
"You may leave," I instructed, watching my reflection in the mirror. Once the maid exited, I broke the mirror with my hand."Why... Why is everything not the same anymore..." I murmured as I examined my reflection in the shattered mirror.
"Everything... isn't how I envisioned it..." I uttered, tightening my fist.
"Fern..." I exclaimed before smashing the broken mirror and releasing a scream of frustration."This... This is all her fault! Ahhh!!!" I yelled in anger, and then suddenly, I began to hear voices in my head.
Voices that had haunted me since my arrival in this world.
"Auriane..."
I scanned the room but found no one present, yet their whispers echoed throughout the room."Auriane..."
As I continued to search, growing increasingly frustrated, I peered at my reflection in the shattered mirror once more. To my surprise, a dark figure identical to me was smiling back.
"Auriane, come to me..." she commanded, and I hesitated, staring at my reflection."Who...are you? Why do you have my face..." I inquired, and she responded with a peculiar and eerie smile.
"I am you, silly," she replied, causing me to furrow my brows.
"Come and hear me out... Don't you want to achieve 'our' happy ending? " she asked, smiling."How'd you..." I began, but she cut me off.
"How'd I know? It's because you and I are one person. Let me take the lead in accomplishing our happy ending," she insisted with a smile.
"I assure you, it will be worthwhile. Don't you desire the happy ending? The one you've been obsessing on achieving? " she stated, smiling with an unsettling aura."Let me achieve that for you, and you won't ever... Regret it," she assured, and I smiled in response.
"The happy ending..." I echoed.
"Yes... Our happy ending," she confirmed with a smile."Didn't you say that you would do whatever it takes to achieve 'our' happy ending, hmm? " she inquired with a smile as I gazed into her eyes.
"No matter what it costs, I'll do anything to achieve it..." I affirmed, and she smiled, extending her dark hand from the mirror.
"Shake my hand, and together we will eliminate anyone who dares to stop us, even your little sister..." she proposed."My sister..." I muttered, hesitating as I glanced at her hand.
"Yes, that little wench who is altering our story, the one responsible for all the changes in our world. She must vanish if we are to achieve 'our' happy ending," she stated gravely.
"But...she's my little sister... Despite my anger and frustration at her changes, even my threats and attempts to...harm her... But... But..." I trailed off, stepping back."Auriane... she's not your little sister anymore in this world, she's an enemy that we need to get rid of," she asserted.
"Furthermore, even if you eliminate her, she won't perish in the real world; she'll simply return." She grinned, and I gazed at her.
"You would be doing your little sister a favor, Auriane... You would simply..." She emerged from the mirror, approaching me as she whispered in my ear."Just gonna send her back to the real world by... Killing her in this world," she whispered, smiling at me.
"Besides, killing her isn't the same as murdering her in the real world; you're simply... doing your little sister a favor," she said with a smirk.
"She won't die in the real world if I kill her here? How can I trust you?" I questioned, and she smiled.
"You'll have to trust me; after all, I am you," she said with a chilling smile."So, what do you say, Auriane? Shake my hand? " she asked, extending her hand once again.
"Let's send her back to the real world. Once we eliminate her, we will deal with anyone who stands in our way," she proposed with a smile.
After contemplating for a few moments, I chose to shake her hand. Upon doing so, she smiled and vanished before me.Dark smoke filled my room, swirling around me, and abruptly, all of it entered my mouth. When I opened my eyes... I feel strange.
I couldn't feel my feet on the ground; I felt hollow inside, yet a strange and intense anger washed over me, accompanied by a desire to bathe my hands in blood.Suddenly, there was a loud knock at my door, followed by the maid's voice.
"My lady, have you taken a bath?" I heard her inquire from outside. I opened the door, feeling a sense of darkness inside me.
"Help me... bathe," I requested, gazing at the maid. As soon as she entered, I closed the door, holding a broken glass while standing behind her."My lady, would you like me to add some fragrance to your bath?" the maid asked. As she turned around to face me, I swiftly grabbed her and slashed her throat wide open with the broken glass in my hand.
"M-My lady..." she gasped as she fell to the floor, blood flowing from her neck. She looked at me as I smiled, holding the broken mirror shard."This new sensation within me... It feels almost incredible," I expressed with a smile, spinning around and observing my blood-stained hand.
"Now, to hide the body," I declared with a smile, as a dark hole appeared beneath the maid's body.
"With this newfound power, I believe I can make everyone vanish," I chuckled to myself.I proceeded to the bathroom to bathe, smiling as I observed my hand still stained with blood.
"Oh, my dear little sister..." I remarked with a smile, gazing at my blood-stained hand.
"Prepare yourself, for your sister is coming to eliminate you," I smirked."Burn... I want to see you burning before me," I declared with a smile and a laugh.
