This is what would have been the second chapter of what I posted in the previous part, however this one I didn't finish because at the time I had major writer's block and then when it shifted Dawn of the Vampires was already floating around in my head, so I left it as it is.

                         Chapter 2

Although I knew that I was invisible, I still froze with fear when she glanced briefly over her shoulder at the sound of the floorboards creaking outside her room. He relaxed a little once she turned back to the sheet of paper she had been focused on before. I looked around, eyeing the structure of the room as I searched for something useful that would help me get the task done. My eyes lingered on a few items in particular; a cord that appeared to be an alternative to flicking the light switch, a pair of adult scissors resting near her right hand atop of the desk… but neither of those would cause fatal damage to her.

Eventually my eyes fell back on the girl as I gave up looking around. So far nothing I had seen would be of any use. Maybe it wasn't that there was nothing useful, but rather I wasn't looking hard enough simply because the task was something I never wanted to do in the first place. I'd never had to question my loyalty to Magnus before since he hadn't given me a reason to. This time it was different. He had presented a side to himself this evening that I didn't even know existed. His words had come across as selfish and arrogant, two ways I had never thought of him before. Now that my eyes were open to this new side I couldn't close them again. The darkness was practically up in my face and as I stood here waiting for an opportunity I found myself unwilling to go through with the job for the first time ever. Not even the idea of punishment was enough to scare me into proceeding.
