Snow fell over the Malfoy Manor grounds as warm lights lit the long roads. Carriages lined up to arrive at the large home of the Malfoys. A mahogany smell roamed the air as classical music filled the guests' ears. Excited chatter was going around as everyone was dressed in their best gowns and suits.

A swan-white carriage approached the steps of the manor and came to a stop as two women came into light. Druella Rosier, a young woman with a gleaming smile and long sparkling gown, pulled the arm of her friend. The sixth year students were more excited than ever that they were away from Hogwarts.

Victoria was in a long wine dress that revealed her back as embroidered roses were sewn on the tailbone of her dress, just under the cut that showed her back. She wore matching wine coloured gloves of satin and thanked the footman who assisted her. Her long black hair was waved and part of it was braided into a marvellous bun.

"Wouldn't it be awkward that we're in the middle of an argument?" Victoria asked Druella. "What if he doesn't want to see me here..."

"Don't be ridiculous, he can't take back his invitation," Druella said. "Besides you look hot in that dress so how could he not forgive you for wanting to spend half your holiday with me?"

"I did change our plans at the last second," Victoria muttered. "But he's acting like I won't be here next week."

The ballroom was large with a warm aura that represented joy. Viridian reefs and garlands were hung on the pillars of the ballroom with silver ribbons. A great chandelier hung over the heads of the guests while the orchestra was in the centre of the ballroom, every one of the performers sparkling like stars.

Above was also a second floor balcony that was well decorated with the rest of the room. In the corner of the room was a tier of tables with gifts for each guest, but Victoria's attention was caught on Cygnus who had joined them.

He kissed Druella's hand and greeted Victoria.

"Have you seen Abraxas?" Victoria asked Cygnus.

"He's still in his room," Cygnus replied, arm in arm with Druella.

"Is he still upset with me?"

Cygnus shrugged with a smile. "Isn't he always upset with you?"

Though he meant it as a joke, she couldn't help but think back about it. Maybe he always was. If they weren't studying or kissing, they'd usually be arguing. Besides, they didn't do much of that anymore–kissing. And if they were arguing it would be over the fact that he didn't have control.

But this time it was understandable because she had changed plans with him at the last second.

Right?

She didn't know where his room was, but Cygnus directed her upstairs on the balcony. She made her way upstairs and down a long corridor in hopes that she'd run into him. He wouldn't miss the entire party over an argument with her.

The corridor was dark and tall with no pictures or frames against the wall. For a split second, she saw a shadow walk into a room. She called his name and followed before coming to a dead end.

She figured that maybe she was heading down the wrong way when she heard the door beside her open. There was a grip on her arm as she was tugged into the guest room. It was dark and the room was tall with sheer curtains against the window that illuminated the room with the moon's appearance.

"Are you done being upset with me?" Victoria asked. "You know I-"

She paused.

Her back was against the door as the figure stood, towering her. She made out his face to be Tom Riddle and not Abraxas Malfoy.
